Post game comments- Wichita State 80 - BU 73

Yeah, I'm back. We were on vacation and then we moved. It took forever to get internet again.

Anyway, we got beat just about every way we can. The only good thing was the crowd as we stayed in it to the end.

Someone please tell me how we can give up so many layups and rebounds. And it's been a problem all year where the other team gets a rebound on their missed free throw. How is that possible?

Way too many unforced turnovers many due to a lack of communication.

Well, I'll just finish this ugly mess and watch the football game. Ouch!

I only heard the last 4 minutes and the post game comments. It sounds like more of the same. Can't wait to see the box score and see how many minutes DC and RA played. I would think we would have solved that back door layup drill by now.

DC never saw the floor and RA played in the last minute of the first half to save Sam Singh from picking up a 3rd foul.

IMO we need to go back to playing 2 bigs at a time.....the 6'4 190 power forward seems to only work when no one is on him? We are not good off the dribble, or passing right now so let's get 2 big guys in the game at once and get a couple of rbs and an inside out game for an open 3! On the lay ups .....when you give up 70+ pts a game the lay ups are part of the problem....IMO we over help on D' giving up the open lane to the hoop!

Right now AW and SM are my best players.......I expect more from JC!

not sure why crouch was matched with couisnard on defense so much. tough assignment.

we are slooooooooooooow. need major improvements to our footwork.

I didnt see any of the game but we were out rebounded by 16, and gave up 51 second half points to a team who averages just over 60 for an entire game. RA plays one minute, DC none, Singh grabs 4 boards in 21 minutes and Salley has 3 in 25.

Bottom of the league and Thursday night here we come. JL you need to step up and make some serious changes immediately. This is sickening. An 0-3 in the MVC, 2 more on the road coming up with a pretty certain 0-5 start. Hopefully we can beat Evansville on the 19th because we are not beating anyone else the rest of this month.

Very poor defense...I can't beilieve how many times our help defense consisted of reaching in while WSU drove the paint. We get outrebounded by 16...let them shoot 64%
I don't know...it's going to along season even after DR gets back
We have only 30 minutes off the bench total....very hard to win many games with no depth.......
WSU tried to help by having 25 turnovers but it didn't matter.

are we going to ever get another W?

are we going to ever get another W?

Are we going to win another game at all until Ruff comes back?? i just assume BU will lose at home, which is a place they used to dominate at. ugh

I didn't get to see the game, but it seems like the season is going down the toilet fast. I really thought we'd win this one even without Ruff. I'm still hoping for a mid-season turnaround ala 2005-06, but wow, we just don't seem to be very good.

No, things don't look good at all. Darn. Wish the season would have began differently, but it's looking very tough to turn around. Just got to ride it out, I guess. Going to try and enjoy each game without expectations now.

Hard to get minutes with only a 7 man rotation. In the 2nd half we just looked tired. When they are tired, they stop moving their feet and start picking up fouls, and with the MVC being a touchy foul league, this makes us need subs even more. Also when they get tired, their shots stop falling. This could be why we are such a bad second half team.

I understand that Les may have his reasons why DC, RA, and WE don't play, but at some point you have to go and let go of all that because otherwise he'll find himself under a lot of fire because the season will be a complete letdown.

We were not a great team with DC or WE playing, but we are an even worse team without them playing. We need them to, at the very least, eat up minutes so our other guys can get some rest.

There is no turnaround with this team, not this year and by the looks of the current bench that barely plays, certainly not next season. You're never going to win a game consistently being out rebounded by 10-20 a game. Also whats sickening, Creighton just out rebounded MO State by 8 tonight. Were on a last or 2nd to last finish at this rate. Sickening, just plain sickening. Where is this top recruiting class at? I see one of the worst classes.

Rebound stats per game while losing 6 of last 7 games...

- minus 16 tonight to WSU
- minus 18 to MO State
- minus 19 to N. IA
- plus 4 against VCU
- minus 1 to Butler
- plus 10 to Wright State
- minus 19 to MI State

NICE post DUB! You make a good point......the 2nd half JC wanted to come out many times looking to the bench and it didn't happen.....it really showed the last half!

I'm not a big finger pointer but I'm pointing kinda in the direction of Matt Salley. For a senior, BU is not getting the boost you would hope from a player with his experience.

bench points would be nice! or bench playing time for a change. give someone a breather once in a while that could be why we are so slow sometimes.

Salley does all he can with what he's capable of doing. He's also played out of position for two years.

I guess I'm one of the few who accepts Salley for who he is.
