if Slack gets the foul call jumping on RA's back to defend Ruffins 3......
Forgot about that one Dogs... Dont know what the zebra was smoking when he made that call. Overall though, I thought the officiating was pretty good.

just got back....
the ISU students had some really classless chants. ...
Just got back. I have not seen that many middle fingers in a long time. Props to all the BU fans that made it, there were a lot of Bradley fans there. For all the criticism we have about our own crowd, a Bradley home crowd is hand down better than a crowd at ISU. Noise, class...
I guess when its been SO long since you beat your rival and it finally happens logic/common sense goes out the window.......
Very true... The student section is another issue though..The vast majority of the ISU fans are fine people, and nobody in the section where we sat was the least bit rude, and most were quite friendly.
Thankfully I wasn't too close to the students, but as you saw, it took a significant effort by security to keep them from rushing the floor after the win, as several tried it.

Wessler's blog.... he reports there was no profanity from ISU fans.

"A tip of the fedora to Illinois State??™s students tonight at Redbird Arena. I don??™t think I??™ve ever seen them so well-behaved. They were everything a college crowd should be: large, loud, supportive of their team, appropriately disruptive of the visitors (in this case, the archrival Bradley Braves), and??”my goodness??”not a single profane cheer."
Just one of those wild three pointers,
"You mean like the 28 footer that Ruffin threw in? Or the falling down off ballance shots that Crouch hit? Ruffin was the most out of control player on the floor for either team. His 6 turnovers would attest to that.
Props to OE for making a way better pct on those 3-pointers than he usually does.
He's shooting 40% from 3......you make it sound like he can't shoot. He's also shooting 48% from the field overall
as they rely on circus shots, windmill layups, and wild 3-pointers.
Did you even watch the game? They made 2 reverse layups (OE) Where were the circus shots and wild 3's? If you call stationary 3's from the wing wild then I guess they are. the game was lost on BU's end because you got destroyed in the paint because your bigs are small and soft. Deal with it. Slack and Dinma made shots from 10 feet in and they made 11 of them. You lost the game right there. Dunks and 4 foot bank shots are not circus shots.
always have, and always will....it is a big reason why they don't draw well, as I am sure there are people, especially fans of opposing teams who think like you that it is a rude, offensive, and moronic atmosphere.
ISU people defend this kind of childish hooliganism, but it hurts them in the long run.
Had this been Assembly Hall in Urbana, we'd have all the self appointed moral police like Jay Mariotti cursing the crowd...but I didn't expect anything less, so it didn't bother me.
The one redeeming fact, however, is that as soon as some of Porter Mosers players are gone, then I cannot imagine that Sead Odzic, Dinma Odiakosa, and Ty Modupe will be enough of a draw,
I'm sure Jeremy Robinson, Kenyon Smith will help attendance. Curious why you failed to list those names. With the way Dinma played last night and has played the last month, not sure why you'd list him either.
BTW-When you guys lose Ruffin and Crouch a HUGE local attraction will be gone. those 2 kids have put some butts in the seats as well. How motivated are people going to be to see Wilson, Collins and Cole-Scott next year in Peoria?
As far as the crowd and the chants......I found them to be embarrassing as much as you did.
and the seats at Redbird Arena will be empty again.
Recall...it is only when Bradley comes with its several thousand fans that they even come close to a sellout.
"Why do you care about our attendance so much?"

Where BU sets its sights on postseason play, NCAA appearances, Sweet Sixteen accomplishments, Top 40 home attendance figures, Top 25 all time wins, and even National Championship banners...
ISU sets its sights on one game in February each year, most of which they lose, and they storm the court even when they beat us in a 13-15 season like they did in 2004-2005!
This, above all, exemplifies how small their asprations are.....as they deem it a successful season just to win that one game.
As posted elsewhere......
Things like "Buck FRADL*EY" (several hundred people had signs or t-shirts saying this), "F-you BU", "You SUCK", and (how could he possibly miss this one?) the organized "BULL-SH*T" chant that followed most of the bad or borderline referee calls, and a few other chants certainly don't leave much to the imagination, and probably wouldn't be allowed in the Wessler household.
I didn't hear 1 bull**** chant all night, but the others were in poor taste.
GMAB..one game makes our season? I think not.
And dogs.........I do think ISU is the better team. I'm sure you think BU is the better team. Why shouldn't we feel that way about our teams? As far as Les......I think he is a good coach, but if you honestly think having Crouch guard a red hot Eldridge with the game on the line is good strategy then I don't know what to say. I doubt Crouch is your best defender is he?
Overall it was a great game by two good teams. ISU made a couple more plays. they have more talent in the paint and it showed. That was the difference in the game. Hopefully there will be a 3rd game in St. Louis.
Agree, its so much better when both teams are good! Im not sure if I can handle a rematch in St. Louis!
