Post Game thread-- siu 46 BU 48!

Can a game be ugly and still be exciting? You better believe it..... :D

Too bad the game wasn't on TV so Digger could watch the first half and then rag on the Valley some more! :-P

This was one of the most exciting games I've ever seen, and I have been watching for a long time.
Bradley beat SIU by doing what SIU does best- tight defense. That collapsing zone defense that Jim Les employed most of the night was a stroke of coaching genius.
My vote to Jim Les for the Coach of the Game!

Great team effort!

No doubt the zone defense helped BU win the game.

Mullins fouled Will on that last shot with an obvious hard body bump. But the officiating crew called a very loose game all night letting a lot of 2-handed hand checks, and forearm checks by the SIU defense. So I didn't expect them to call that foul on Mullins at the end. Thank goodness the ball dropped through.

This is one game the crowd definitely made a difference. It seemed to bother SIU down the stretch, and they really struggled to score.

i agree. the officials favored siu all night.

I love how their forums are filled with nothing but whining about their pathetic offense.

IMO, it wasnt their offense, it was our defense. Our inside game seems to have improved a ton tonight too...even with SIU all over us. I dont think I've seen a team defend us so well...

I am glad that you were cheering!!!!
It was a game to be seen first hand.
They need to show Zach's dunk during the peviews!!!
When Zach is on his game, we have a lot better chances anywhere!!

Great call by Coach to switch to a zone. What a game, can't wait for the Shox to come to town, we gotta keep up the atmosphere.

Ya for sure, wish I was going to Terre Haute. Definately can't look past the Sycamores.

Last nights game was as close to an NIT atmosphere in the CA that I can remember! :-o The last couple of NIT games I attended were great.....every posession meant something....and last nights game had that same feeling! For a low-scoring affair it sure was exciting........not like the ole bob donawold 4 corners hold the ball for 3 minutes before you shoot low scoring  but an in your face defensive battle! Very fun.....at least the INS game is on the tube!

I have heard 'butter' whenever the shot-clock/game-clock is under about 10 secs - both on offense and defense.

I think it is Coach Les challenging the guys to 10 more secs of... be it "give it your all defensively" or "give it your all offensively".

I think it is a solid coaching effort to 'remind' players of how much time is left and do what is expected of them in that time span. I don't think there is a set play (unless there is a 'butter 15' or whatever meaning something) - just a reminder to gut it out.

Man I agree Mike. For SOME reason people are saying the Arena was quiet and low key last nite. While the first half SIU did a good job at keeping the crowd out of it I think the place was up for grabs after the half.

Maybe I'm in a different world but MY row was going nuts...

dogs, two differewnt callers who made the effort to call in to Jim Les' Monday night radio show, both said the same thing,
that the arena has been rocking and the enthusiasm is near an all time high for this team.
Anyone who says otherwise, is simply not bothering to look.

As you know, where I sit, the BU personnel come in and out of the lockerroom, and occasionally I catch one of them for a second, and they are struck by exactly the same thing. The crowd is great, and it goes with the major contributions rolling in and the members in the Chief's Club and Scholarship Society skyrocketing.
Three years ago there were 4 members in the BU Scholarship Society, now there are 40. Just look in the game programs to see how strongly people are beginning to support this program and get on board for the ride.
It will only get better.......and thanks for all your support, dogs!
