Postgame, BU wins 75-73

What is JL's problem?

He doesn't start the right players. He doesn't substitute well. He doesn't call timeouts well. They can't rebound. They can't play D.

Do I need to go on???

----hehe----

Nice win! Congrats to BU, the players, coaches and staff. GD it - we all know we all needed it!

Tonight's game just makes last Saturday's debacle all the harder to stomach. But, what's done is done. We've got 13 league games left, and 7 of those are at home. We can't drop another at home, and need to win at least 1 if not 2-3 more road games. If we can do that, we can work our way into anywhere between 4th and 6th. Most importantly, we can stay out of Thursday. Efforts like tonight will make that happen.

Cool! See what happens when I don't listen to the game! ;)

This is definately a makeup win for the UNI home loss. So that turned out to be a wash. If we can steal one at Wichita St and win at least 6 or our remaining 7 home games, maybe, just maybe an NIT bid could be in the outing (or that new tournament that's supposed to start up this year). Better yet, this could be the spark that gets us out of the dreaded Thursday night play-in round. Then you never know what could happen in St. Louis.

Let's just keep taking things one step at a time. Drake won't be easy, but they need to be tested on the road, and hopefully an upset could be in the making. But a great win tonight, that's for sure! :)

Heh. I've got a similar superstition. I sometimes watch the game without audio. As we started to play well, I turned on the audio to listen to the broadcast. We started to do poorly. So, I left the audio off the rest of the game. Yes, I am weird. Whatever it takes to help the team win the game. :)

Hey, whatever works! :) I've helped the Cubs win many games using that method as well! :D

I don't want the NIT, and I don't think we have much of a chance at it. What I do think is that this team can make a real run in this conference up to the top 5 as we start to 'get it' and get one of the league's best players back. All I care about right now is positioning ourselves for a run in St. Louis. If healthy, I think we have as good of a shot as anyone to win 3 games in 3 days in St. Louis as long as we stay out of Thursday.

You're absolutely right. But an NIT bid, IF we don't win those 3 games in 3 days, would be a lot better than were we are right now. But yes, let's try to win the Valley tournament first and foremost.

I have to agree that Coleman seems to get away with a lot of fouls as he leans into the defensive player every time; it was great to see Crouch eat him alive 1 on 1 at the end of the game as it was a huge difference maker; and I said it before just Rebound, Rebound and Rebound and good things will happen; this was a real team effort as everyone really contributed.

Think I saw Big Mike on TV sitting next to DC. Way to root em on guys. Big win. And to answer bradleybrave....YES the rebounds were the deciding factor.

We were assisting Coach Les with the play calling.:)

Actually, tonight he made all right right moves. We really enjoyed this one.

Got to see the first half and then missed the second half. Just got home and read the good news.

It's heartening to see that MS, SS, and RA played a combined total of 59 minutes ... the most minutes played in a single game by our big men this year. Looks like the rebounding results were a little different from the last time we played UNI with a different lineup! :p

Congratulations to the players and coaches on winning a hard fought road game!!!

Just got home from "Frost-Bite Falls" and yes it was snowing! Had a great time with Da Coach.....had dinner @ a sports bar called Mulligans meeting Wonder Woman and Dubl R 1! We ended up moving down to the 3rd row behind the team where they had seats for almost all the Bradley fans......and IMO this was a 40 minute effort by the Braves.....1st one this season! The subs were handled as good as I've seen this season by the staff.......JC stepped up and looked like the SR leader we've needed with DR out......SM & AW make the future look bright for Bradley Basketball! This is the 1st team in a while the team showed a swagger.....they gave a look that this game was in hand and they were going to win it from the opening tip! Very fun day....but its always nice the get a W.....kind of takes some of the sting out of the home loss to uni!

PS...........looks like my man RA has played himself into the Big-Man game rotation!

Sign me up..........I still think theres room at the table for 1 more.....DC!

Lets hope RA is starting to "get it".....its almost like a late season pickup in baseball. As the article in the PJstar pointed out and as we all know sometimes it takes these jucos awhile to get going. Rare are the Tony Bennets and THeron Wilsons of the college game.

Now lets get the 7 footer going......

BTW guys.....seemed like Coleman gets alot of calls down low. Watched the game from a distance on the internet while watching football so it was hard to tell. What were you're thoughts from up close?

Not to discount JL's efforts, but isn't it something how the moves work when the players fight their A$$e$ off on the boards and the shots fall.

Coleman was getting more than his share of the calls.
Coleman is the new Matt Webster. He seems to be able to put his shoulder down and ram into a defender, or hook him with an elbow and use it to drive around him and the refs give it their blessing.

Thanks for the report. I'd love to to see the Braves approach each game for here-on-out with the attitude that we are going to win the the battle of the boards every time we step on the hard wood. With DC in the mix, we can start pushing the big 4 toward 70 minutes a game. Make the the other team match up with us. :D
