Preseason Exhibtion scores

DU Bulldog, I note that they were shorthanded, but in all the press releases, I never saw mention of redshirt freshman Keith Worner playing.
He went on the trip, did he play? If he played, how'd he do?

T....he did make the trip, but apparently did nothing to get himself mentioned in any of the stories that were posted on www.godrakebulldogs.com.

Here is one of my posts on the Bahamas thread at www.drakenation.com

There were only 7 scholarship players on the trip, and there were 4 blowout victories for the Bulldogs. I would assume that means that everybody got to play a lot of minutes. Every other player did enough to get mentioned in at least 3 of the 4 game reports. Worner apparently didn't do enough to merit even one mention. He's a real nice kid, he works hard, but at what point does it become obvious that you're in over your head?

Just as an FYI, Bucky Cox had 64 rebounds in the final 3 games. I know the competition was weak, but I'm still encouraged by that.

All I can say is that weak competition or not, this is some kind of accomplishment.
I know when Bradley went on its preseason trip to Canada, the stats were often way, way off as they had a bunch of hacks/inexperienced people doing the stat keeping, and I wonder if that's a possibility?
Do you have an actual box score, to prove there were enough missed shots to actually account for all the rebounds?

Is Cox still a walk-on status? It sounds like he'll get plenty of playing time.

Coach....Cox is on scholarship for this year (his junior year) and next.

T....no box scores, but in several of the articles on Drake's website, they mentioned the shooting stats for the Bahamian teams, which were usually along the lines of 19-62, or something similar. So, there were a lot of rebounds to be had.

I will see the coaching staff tonight (as will a couple hundred other people). I'll check with them to see how legit these stats were.

As of today, Keith Worner is no longer listed on Drake's roster. Drake has 3 commitments (some say 4) and only 2 scholarships available...Worner's scholarship will make 3 available.

I wish the young man good luck. He's a great kid, but was in way over his head at the MVC level.
