Prouty System Player Ratings

DC's offense and rebounding numbers, given his limited minutes, are either right on pace or surpass Salley's.

Maybe we should just kick him off the team now and not waste that scholarship on a senior that will contribute nothing to the team! In fact, why don't we free up TCS' scholarship too! Let's find someone else to do our recruiting while we're at it since two of the six new players are showing something.
DC's numbers were compiled against lousy competition and they occurred nearly two months ago...
Yeah, I know...DC looked great against SEMO, Florida Gulf Coast, Maryland-Eastern Shore, etc. back in November...so what. He's looked lost and been a non-factor for the most part since then. Now is not the time of year to be putting deep bench guys out there to see if they 'can figure it out'...that's what garbage time is for.

Again....Salley's numbers aren't exactly what you look for from a starting center either! I have a hard time believing DC couldn't get 16 points and 25 rebounds in 97 minutes over the last four games.

Sure...I wish we had Roy Hibbert in the post...but we don't. Salley's numbers aren't good, he's very limited as a player...I would agree with you there...
But I believe, and the coaching staff appears to agree with me, that Collins is not capable of giving us better minutes than Salley right now.
Collins has produced a whopping 0 points and 1 rebound in his last 24 minutes of play, so no, I don't agree with your assertion that he would have magically produced good figures in those categories if he would just have been given Salley's minutes over the past 4 games.
BTW...there are things other than points or rebounds involved in the game of basketball...

I understand there are other things involved in the game of basketball.

I also understand that it may not be that easy to put up points and rebounds when you play less than 5 minutes per game!

Again, maybe the staff should take a look at the players they are recruiting if our juniors can't get any better and contribute 20 games into the season!

Matt Salley is completely worthless and I would rather see DC, Sam, or Rashad in there ahead of him pretty much every game.

I wouldn't go that far, Matt's last two games have really shown me somethin, and I think if he keeps it up, we'll keep winning. The last two games he's played with a fire that I haven't seen this whole season.

C'mon, dude...this is silly.
Matt played a solid game against Drake...Is he limited as a player? Yes. But to want David Collins to take minutes away from Salley at this point of the year is pure silliness. Collins is our 20-20 guy right now...he's only going to get in the game if we're up 20 or down 20.

I'm not so sure about last TWO games. He did have nine rebounds against Creighton, but he also missed two layups while shooting 25% from the field. His only made basket was a dunk. Nine rebounds in 24 minutes is impressive, but two points in 24 minutes is not!

I do agree, however, that his last game was better. Maybe it's just me, but I would rather see him go for 9 points and 5 rebounds than 2 points and 9 rebounds.

I think the Creighton game was the best game Matt has had since last year at Iowa State. It may not show up in the stats but Matt was playing with an intensity that hasn't always been there this year. He tipped out a couple of balls that got us more posessions and he was attacking the glass hard. I know that his stats don't show it but over the last few games Matt has really kicked it up a notch.
