Prouty System Player Ratings

I'm not so sure about last TWO games. He did have nine rebounds against Creighton, but he also missed two layups while shooting 25% from the field. His only made basket was a dunk. Nine rebounds in 24 minutes is impressive, but two points in 24 minutes is not!

I do agree, however, that his last game was better. Maybe it's just me, but I would rather see him go for 9 points and 5 rebounds than 2 points and 9 rebounds.
Salley and Austin are the only two post players that can play any semblance of defense in the post...I wholeheartedly agree with anyone that is frustrated with Salley's offensive limitations...but he is what he is. Defensively and on the boards he is light years ahead of where Collins and Singh are at this point...and that is why he gets the minutes.

Seems to me we give up a LOT of layups and easy baskets! Doesn't say much for Collins and Singh if Salley's defense is "light years ahead".

Salley can rebound.

Oh...don't get me wrong...I'm not suggesting that Salley should clear off a place on the mantle for his All-MVC Defensive team trophy...not even close...
But he brings a physical presence, energy, and level of intensity on defense that Collins is nowhere near capable of bringing right now...
And Singh just doesn't have the foot speed or athleticism to allow him to defend and rebound as well as Salley does. He sets some good screens and he can be effective as a screen-and-roll guy offensively, though.

All these numbers and scenaro's! Give me a break! You people have to much time on your hands. Its all how the game is played, who shows up to play, and who's getting the job done in the coachs eye's.
This thing with DC is getting old! He has scored some points in the last couple games but he is still lost most of the time he is in there and for every point he he scores he allows 2 to 3 times that at the other end. Now he did have a block shot the last game, but then he turned around and got burned the next two time's down the floor.
People, this guy has been here all year now, he is 7' and 240, he should of showed us more by now! Even with his physical size, he hasn't shown the heart and motation that is needed to play. Hell he has hands as bad as Heem. did. He should alest know his defense asignments or act like he doe's!! I'm not saying he can't help this team next year but you can't teach someone heart and motavation. And if playing Dvi 1 for BU and playing in the MV at 7' doesn't trip your trigger, what the hell will!

! You people have to much time on your hands.

As one of "you people" I know as soon as the weather breaks and I can start golfing again I'll have less time on MY hands.....I can't speak for the other "you people".

As far as "giving you a break"....its ok with me...take 15,20 whatever you need.

Mean while, before you start golfing and running numbers on your score card, hows about helping me with my Check Book numbers!
NO MONEY IN THE ACCOUNT + NO MONEY COMING IN = $_______?????

ER3 sees things similiar to me as Salley may not be the most talented player but if all of our bigs gave the same amount of effort they would be much better players, (Wilson is not a big so I do not include him ) Austin, Collins and Egolf need to be more physical .

I have a very hard time believing DC is personally responsible for allowing 12-18 points against Cincy and 12-18 against Virginia! I'll have to go back and watch the games and see how many points were scored during his minutes on the floor and how many points he "allowed". Do I believe he needs to show a much more physical presence....of course! At the same time, I think that can be said for most of our other bigs when it comes to giving up easy layups and handing out touch fouls at the same time! I really wish our bigs played more like SIU in that respect. If you're gonna foul a layup, then FOUL and don't let it be a three-point play. Maybe some players would think twice about driving it in there if you knock them down a few times!

I never believed DC was responsible for those runs but he did get lost and didn't contest a couple shots he should of. I'm just saying I'm not sure where the guys heart is or where it will be next yr. Some people are easy going and less motavated than others. If he finds it, and at 7' 240 he should help this team and himself after he leaves (NBA or somewhere). As for all the bigs and contesting shots, you are right!! There shouldn't be a free-bee! Contest all shots with authority as to not let them score and get 1.
This will also send a message! Also, our bigs should keep (push) them out of the paint and there would be no easy ones. Put a body on them. SS doe's it as good as any of them but JL does not play him enough!
PUT A BODY ON THEM, NO FREEBEES, KNOCK THEM DOWN, SET HARD SREENS
AND YOU ARE RIGHT KNOCK THEM DOWN ON THEIR BUTTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
