Providence at Bradley Wednesday

I agree, if someone with the contacts and that lives in Peoria could push the fact that it would be great if BUTV picked this up I would appreciate it. Has anyone been able to find out if a local channel will carry it? If they do I think it would be easy for BUTV to put this on? HELP ANYONE!!!!!!

We've established the fact that this game won't be on big TV (which is fine because then it would have been relegated to ESPN U, which means it would have been hard to find somewhere that carries it).

Much more importantly to us out-of-towners is will this be shown on bubraves.tv? I realize they would probably charge 6 or 7 bucks because it's not part of the season package anymore. But, there's no reason I can see why this game wouldn't be allowed to be on (TV contracts, etc.).

Can someone ask Ken K. about this or do we know the policy?

KK's email and phone #:

I also would strongly recommend everyone send an e mail to the coaches and players wishing them well, and thanking them for a great season so far.
Add a little encouargement and when I've done this in the past I generally have gotten a nice reply.........

Send copies to these addresses and say the e mail is meant for the entire team, and it'll get to them!

Roby,

Appreciate the kind words and support. Although things are still being worked out w/ rights holder ESPN, we are hoping to be able to stream Weds. game.

Go Braves!

Ken

Here is Ken's quick response so they are working on it....great that he would get back so fast!!!

Here are the BU-Providence Game Notes:

TV arrangements are "To be announced"

Will Frankliin needs 6 more 3-pointers to tie Aaron Zobrist's all time single season record of 90.
Will is already tied for 3rd best single season total right now at 84.

Bradley presently leads the nation in 3-point FG percentage at .427, slightly ahead of Northern Arizona who isn't playing anywhere in the postseason.

Jeremy Crouch is a virtual shoo-in to break Aaron Zobrist's all time record for single season 3-pt FG shooting accuracy.
Crouch presently is shooting .510 from the arc, and would have to miss his next 17 attempts before he falls below Aaron Zobrist's single season record of .460.

There's even a remote chance Zach Andrews could catch Luke Jackson's all time single season FG% record of .668.
But it is very, very remote.
Zach would have to make the next 16 shots to pass Luke.

In March of 1960 I was just relocated to Arlington, Va by the US Army and on my first day there I watched Bradley beat Providence in the championship game of the NIT at a little bar in downtown Washington, DC. Lets repeat that performance.

Will has 94 3's and needs 6 more to catch Zob's record of 90? Oh Ok?

We (fans and administration) are getting some respect on the PC board:
Almost embarassing looking into Bradley, it's like Bizarro-Friars program over there. Everything that we either wish we were doing or we should be doing.

-They are confident they'll be mowing us down

-Their fans are actually excited about the NIT, lining up for tickets, and we can expect a sellout. They've already sold out the student tickets and the lower bowl. We've never had that reaction to an NIT home game, and maybe that speaks to expectations.

-They are doing a white-out. Special copy and paste for Cajun: After conducting two successful ???‚¬?“Red-Out???‚¬?? promotions during the regular season, Bradley is sponsoring its first ???‚¬?“White-Out???‚¬?? of the year Wednesday night. Thanks to the sponsorship of Methodist Medical Center , Prairie Home Alliance and Wingate Properties, special white t-shirts will be available at Carver Arena Wednesday night. Fans simply will need to present their NIT ticket at designated locations throughout Carver Arena to receive their t-shirts.

- Their website is miles ahead of ours, streaming the coaches radio show and a "TV site" that has been streaming video of games, lots of updates and information, not just a "press release" every now and again

- Which by the way, they may be streaming Wed night game - they are trying to work out the rights with ESPN

-Their fans are encouraging emails to coaches and players to, get this, thank them for the great season

Whoa...this is awesome.
The Providence fans are listing the numerous ways in which we Bradley fans are light years ahead of most fans of other teams.
But it doesn't surprise me, since I have known we have the greatest fans all along.
And we have the best fan webiste........

GO BU!!

Glad to know were good fans before the game. Let's show them were good fans at the game! I really hope we sell out. I can't wait to see Bradley get another notch in their belt.

This brings up an interesting point... My friend and I were discussing how the Sports Marketing Department was on to something when they vaguely made references to the Bradley Student Section as the 'Red Pride.' There is a fan 'reward club' of the same name, but I really think marketing the student section or even the whole crowd as 'The Red Pride' could really be effective. I think it promotes the fans as a collective whole and creates a sense of community... just my two cents!

Aww, Andy ... you need to ditch the IE thing and come over to the dark side of public relations ... :D

I think BU fans are generally a good bunch. I have heard some 'crap' and it embarrasses me... and I think it usually is coming from a mis-informed fan on the 'game of college hoops' rather than some Tackle-Box suckin' down jars just looking for an argument.

Providence will get respect.

But it will be rowdy.

Nice to see the props for bradleyfans.com there... though Providence, Big East or not, doesn't really have too firm a ground to be looking down on Bradley as far as Basketball goes... they are, at best, a lot like us in terms of bball heritage.

By the way, IHeartBU... just what the hell is your avatar? hehe
