BustingBrackets.com has ranked all Division I head coaches each year for the last 3 years. Here is their ranking for the 2021-22 season-
https://bustingbrackets.com/2021/10/01/ncaa-basketball-ranking-358-d-head-coaches-2021-22-season/

Since it takes a while to scroll through their slideshow, here are where the 10 MVC head coaches are ranked-
#63 Ben Jacobson (Northern Iowa)
#89 Darian DeVries (Drake)
#153 Todd Lickliter (Evansville)
#163 Dana Ford (Missouri State)
#173 Brian Wardle (Bradley)
#196 Drew Valentine (Loyola)
#198 Dan Muller (Illinois State)
#204 Matt Lottich (Valparaiso)
#244 Bryan Mullins (Southern Illinois)
#312 Josh Schertz (Indiana State)

I personally think such a ranking is a bit silly, and suspect the writer(s) have never seen most of the teams or coaches.
Last year, they ranked Brian Wardle #157, so the off-year in 2020-21 caused his coaching ability to drop a bit.

A couple others of interest-
#164 Jim Les
#233 Geno Ford

totally cool with BW under the radar at 173. I'll get angry tho if he ever drops below #198 Dan Muller.

Yeah, and you have to wonder how Valentine can be ranked ahead of so many guys when he is 29 and hasn’t coached a game, yet Mullins came from the same staff and actually has experience.

Ridiculous having Dana Ford ranked above BW. Dana Ford does less with more as well as anyone I've seen.

And Geno Ford was ranked about 125 spots higher than he should have been. And that's the objective truth!

I don't like to dis on other MVC coaches, and maybe Dana Ford will some day prove he is a great coach. But in the meantime, as Tommy notes, Dana has been at the top of the MVC in talent on his team. And yet in the 3 seasons he has been at Missouri State- only four MVC teams have either won/or tied the regular season, won the MVC Tourney, or gotten a post-season bid.
Those teams are Bradley (won MVC Tourney twice and would have gotten two NCAA bids), Loyola, UNI, and Drake.
If you even add making it to the MVC Championship game or finishing 2nd in the MVC race - then Valpo makes that list,
but nowhere to be found in any of those categories is Missouri State. After they slyly tanked Bradley's chances, and I don't buy into the "karma" argument, but I think this season will be a memorable one for Missouri State.

I saw that list and thought it was complete garbage. They obviously only looked at Wardle's overall record and last sesaon which is an unfair representation of just how far Bradley has progressed under his leadership.

Absolutely correct! They really shouldn't have considered the COVID season. It was an extremely unusual and difficult season.

Exactly. So really we are going for the three-peat this year, yo.
