I agree too, LG beat me to it. We've got to play bigger to improve over what we've done the last few years. That means WE at the 4 and another big at the 5 with TB at the three. And teach the guards how to pass the ball into the post positions, at least 1-2 post passes per trip or come sit on the bench. Come up with different offensive plays other than what we've been running in the past few seasons.

While I agree BB whats "great" is the JP or AT didn't have a TSC type moment.....
They both showed some promise and AT didn't look lost like he has been in the past. AT has NO moves, somewhat poor hands but was active with some decent putbacks and didn't get knocked over like past years.
JP is going to develop into a fine player IMO.....the potential is there.
I disagree completely. BU's path to success this year does not in any way shape or form run through a scenario with WE, JP, and AT splitting 80 minutes a game. We just need real production out of the 5. I personally am not at all impressed with WE's play the past two years(really one year and 3 games). I think when TB comes out, we go with 2 'true bigs.' But being very deep at guard with SM, AW, DD, DSE, arguably JE, and WL looking to get some minutes, the 3-guard is where will BU will find success. Even BU's Sweet 16 run we played the 3-guard (with a smaller 3-guard). I agree we need better/more production from the 5, but asking DD and DSE to both come off the bench with 2 of AT, WE, and JP starting is not a good decision. We just need real production from the 5 and all fo TB's 'out' minutes should come from AT/JP (maybe playing the 5 with WE sliding over, etc.) instead of DSE.

I liked what i seen from Prosser last night!! He actually looks like he has a body built for the Big Ten..He has good hands, quick feet, set some good screens and can score around the bucket..Thompson on the other hand still after 3 years needs a lot of work to be able to compete in the valley and i hope i am wrong, a put back dunk in a scrimmage and 1 block that was probably goal tending did not impress me. Milos did not look to good at all imo! I still think with what i saw in the scrimmage that this team has the tools to compete for a valley title, with 3 of our best players sitting out you can see a lot of depth the kind you can build on during a long season!!

If we give too many minutes to our guards like the past 3 years then we end up just like the last 3 years playing at 2:30 , now that we have Egolf,Prosser and Brown plus Davis and Thonpson and Eastman we can play bigger lineups and not get hurt on the boards , I would think Egolf,Prosser,Brown and whatever 2 guards we decided to put on the floor would be a handful for most teams, but then that is just my observation coming from watching how we have not challenged for a title by playing 3 to 4 guards on the floor at the same time.

I don't want to see 4 guards, agreed, but if you're counting on serious time from Davis, we're gonna be worse than 2:30.

As much as I would like to see WE TB and JP on the front line...they will probably have a 3 guard lineup along side TB and WE....then Sub w/ JP and AT....AD would benefit from a Redshirt...

I was impressed with WE's play before the injury. I would prefer to see WE at the 4 as I think that he was playing out of position last year.
MCD, for some strange reason, I think that we will change up our style of play this year as compared to years past. Maybe it is wishful thinking on my part!:idea::idea:8)

I watched the scrimmage online....but just found the interviews from EVERY PLAYER....really neat.
Not going to happen. He's our best option at the 5 right now like it or not. I'm hoping he can spent a few mpg at the 4 but that will mean that JP and or AT have really developed. If we can afford to use some of WE's minutes at the 4 then we will contend for the title.

I think it is actually very different. There is a lot more to a gameplan than the starting line up. I don't ever (more or less), want to see 4-guards on the floor, DSE SHOULD NOT be subbing out TB in any situation. DSE is going to be even better this year, we missed DD's defense last year. More importantly, I believe JP will be much better subbing for WE than SS was, and by MVC play could be pushing WE for the starting position (could-be, don't crucify me). There is a reason college teams who don't graduate players get much better the next year. I think we need to change our style, in that we need to get much better play out of the 5 spot, not more minutes out of guys who happen to be taller than 6-8.

Just moved back to Peoria 3 weeks ago from Cincinnati and this was my first chance to see the braves live in a long time. I knew about the woman's game but I still came a little early. I actually enjoyed their scrimmage more??¦
I was hoping they wouldn't play Sam and I got my wish. His ankles will probably make me nervous all season. I was disappointed when I saw WE and TB out too, but like some others I often found myself more worried about some silly injury the whole time.
I focused most of my attention WL and I still feel good about his chances to contribute this year. He looks like a solid on ball defender. I liked JP's size and play and am looking for some quality minutes from him throughout the year. JE was solid and will get even more time this year. DSE and DD were taking it strong to the basket in traffic and played physical. I like that. There seemed to be a lot of one hand pass attempts by several of the players that didn??™t go so well. I hope that gets cleaned up. I also found it great seeing the assistants more involved??¦the roadrunner was really coaching them up.
The arena seemed a little clinical/sterile for me...a little too new, which it is...no history yet. There also weren??™t many people in attendance, but I think it could be a great place to pack a standing room only crowd. Even though I'm not completely sold on the arena, I would prefer to watch all my BU games there vs. the Civic Center. I thought the speaker system was lacking big time for such a new arena, but the video boards were awesome. I couldn??™t get any food or drink, because they wouldn??™t take plastic. The guy behind the counter actually told me there was an ATM in Campustown.
The price was ridiculous for what it was, but being a die hard Braves fan, I would probably would have paid even more had they held me hostage for it. The plus, was that I could sit anywhere I liked and at half, I just moved my family down to the first row behind the basket. In the end I didn??™t expect anything from this and that??™s what I got. I??™m sure I??™ll be at the Quincy game next??¦

--there's a couple sides to this argument that there weren't many there...
first - I thought it was a decent crowd given the late Sunday evening time slot -- which as explained elsewhere was about the only day/time they could do it..
But -- as a 2nd point -- I guess I am puzzled that we're hearing such polar opposite complaints...
One argument says BU should not hold men's basketball events on campus since they're worried someone who wants tickets won't be able to get a ticket as they'll get shut out -- and now we see a lot of fantastic seats sitting unoccupied!
--as for prices and taking cash only -- how about some well-deserved props for the fact that all the food items at the concessions were incredibly cheap compared to downtown...and if there's enough call for accepting charge cards - I am sure that in time they'll do it but it's just not set up yet.
I was astounded when I bought popcorn, a 20 oz bottled beverage, and a candy item and still got plenty back from a $5 bill! Each one of those items would have been $3-4.75 downtown...
So I contend that you can complain about the admission charge, but to sit within the first couple rows at mid-court ($10) was still considerably less than half the price of doing same downtown -- and if you buy concessions at all, then in the long run you're gonna save 50%+ of what you'd have spent buying those items downtown.
Just curious.... Does the Civic Center accept credit cards for concessions? Whenever I have purchased concessions at the PCC, which is rare, I have always used cash.

If BU wants better attendance for the red-white game they need to go back to playing a regular 40 minute game, I guarantee that they have lost quite a few fans over the years that feel like it is not worth the trouble of going to watch a short scrimmage or even paying 10:00 a person to see such a short event, I am one that is wondering why we paid so much for so little, the women seemed to be the main attraction which is fine if it was what everyone expected.
