Remy asks for release

What a surprise...Jody Demling confirms that one of the first "official" calls was from Tom Crean-
http://blogs.courier-journal.com/jodydemling/2011/04/22/remy-abell-back-on-the-board/

Abell said the first call after his release came from Penn State but by late Friday afternoon had already also heard from Indiana, Xavier, Western Kentucky and Bradley.
???I am pretty sure more will start calling,??? he said.

Why are we still contacting him?

Perhaps there was a typo in the earlier version of the article as the article now states Butler with no mention of contact from Bradley.

Well good for Butler. Maybe their making the NCAA Tournament championship game will become an annual event for them! ;)

I hope Remy is a star wherever he goes. One and done and off to the NBA would be awesome and sure would fuel the fire here. Of course I wish we could have somehow landed Remy, but everything that's happened thus far all makes perfect sense in the world of college basketball.

I hope if he's as good as some think, that he chooses Butler and then the Bulls.

Your opinions are welcome, even if they differ from other fans. But please avoid posting in this kind of mocking and derisive manner. Thanks.

yes -- but to avoid a rerun of fans turning on Geno and future players and trashing them - as they did to Mo then JL.... -- then we need to expose the hypocrisy of those who do it time and again...
wouldn't it be nice if those who call themselves Bradley fans actually give great support to their team, their players, and their coaches...

I never trashed Mo or JL or future players, which would be hard to do if we don't much about a kid, but just because others hope for changes doesn't mean they aren't Braves fans. The only non fans, IMO. are the ones who say they aren't or won't be fans anymore if changes are made.

My bad. I still wish him Remy the "bestest" and I'm truly excited to have Jalen on board. I hope he and a few others can help bring us the conference championships we all want!

I think all fans agree. With the couple open scholarships, we need to fill a couple more needs. Now, if Coach Ford has the ability to avoid injuries we'll be OK. :)

Comparing Jalen's ESPN profile to Remy's is quite saddening; hopefully Ford knows what he's doing because from today's point of view, we needed a combo player more then a guard. But if he is a true shooting guard, then the Stewart/Crawford combo could be fun to watch for years to come.

The Waiting Game

The Waiting Game

So now Remy just has to wait and see which school hires JL as a head coach so he can go there!

Crawford's ESPN evaluation-

Remy's-

Crawford's grade of 40 means "incomplete". It means he has not been scouted, and thereford cannot be issued a grade or evaluated. We know Remy impressed the evaluators who saw him, but maybe the difference isn't so big. Let's hope JC develops into a good prospect.

OK, you forced me to post for the first time in weeks. There is no evaluation to compare.

40: Pending Prospect
No evaluation is available.

40 means nothing. How is it saddening when they don't even say anything. I know RA is the higher rated prospect and I would have loved to have had him. But after watching JC's video's I am very happy to have him. Even if ESPN had rated him, I don't really trust their ratings. They are all over the place with their ratings compared to every one else.

Umm, the fact that there is no scout info on him is sad.

it's not a diss on Ford, even though everyone seems to be taking it as such, just a fact.
