Reynolds: Latest BU plan lifted from MO...

???Each year, I evaluate the team and its strengths and weaknesses and try to build a system that takes advantage of what our strengths are and stays away from those weaknesses.???

He couldnt possibly have kept a straight face while saying this

We definitely need a smarter approach to offense, as we've blown too many leads taking quick shots with no rebounders in place. I guess our guys only played Farokmanesh? all summer in the gym.

Anyway, there's better ways of installing discipline in an offense, like mandating touches in the paint by bigs.
 
Why is everyone so surpurized every year about this time when most teams are hitting their stride Jimmy changes his coaching theory.

We do things a little differently here because there are no overall philosophies that Bradley excels in.

That makes me wonder if there were to be a change in head coaches at Bradley would this job be attractive to a very good up and coming type of coach. I think the Valley is very attractive but is Bradley?

Between the last search and how it was handled to some of the odd recent hirings/firings within the athletic department..ie the baseball coach and what is the actual philosophies at Bradley in regards to the mens basketball program?

Would a guy, who lets say is involved with a very strong solid BCS program, look at Bradley and say why go there when I have no clue what they want and am not sure they even know?

I really can not believe that the program is essentially back were it was 9 years ago when Les was hired. Only with less talent then what Molinari left behind.

Less talent, but a lot better facilities.

I am really not a facility guy long term..but i am sure it will play a huge role for this hire, and probably only this hire.

Sure the facilities have improved, but Bradley has not been a stepping stone for head coaches to move into better jobs in recent years. Peoria probably isn't attractive to many young coaches. The quality of coach will depend largely on how much Bradley is willing to pay. A large buy-out could significantly hinder that.

Im not worried about this..

BU is a quality job.

I want BU to have a coach leave for a better job. would be a great problem to have.

Don't lose faith in the school.

We made a bad hire, IMO, but I am confident we can make the next one better
 
If you recruited every player on the roster why would you ever have to change your system?

Shouldn't you recruit players that fit the system you want to run?

IMO, this isn't that hard a concept- our best point guard is out and our best inside player is out. I personally do not agree with the idea of playing slow-down, but IMO it's easy to understand his reasons. Numerous coaches at the D1 level make changes in their style when major injury problems force it.

I have heard our big problem with hiring a new coach will be JG!!! Her philosophy is the AD should be making more than all the coaches on staff because he is in charge of all of them!! Also rumor has it that all that job should pay based on that philosophy is 200k or less!!! That will make it hard to get a hot New prospect....We will end up with a guy like the baseball coach nice guy with an overall loosing record...And same goes for Volleyball also overall loosing record but a nice gal...JMO!!!! or not?

She knows how the gig works and what other coaches in the league make...

this is silly bashing of the President.

Lets give her the time to make a hire before we decide what she knows or doesnt know.

I am not bashing her personally just the possible philosophy for hiring new coaches!! Example the new baseball and volleyball coaches hired and their records!!! For the record i like what see from her at games she loves the program and also believe she is good for the school in a lot of ways...
