"Game location no longer matters (for the most part). Now, game management rules. If a team plays on its home floor, it's a home game always. Other than that, if a team is game management (meaning in control of things like officials and tickets), then it is the home team, regardless of where the game is played.

That means that, for example, the Illinois-Arizona game in Chicago on December 8th is now a home game. In the past, that would have been a neutral site game.

Game management isn't always easy to deduce. Also on the list is the Xavier-Kansas St game in Cincinnati next week, which is being played as US Bank Arena and not Xavier's home floor. Under the old rules, that would be a Xavier home game, but because the arena is running the event (including hiring neutral officials to do the game) and not the team, it is now considered a neutral site game."

Well.... at least I always knew UIUC playing in Chicago was a home game for them.

We might have MVC officials at a road game, but they were hired by the hosting school who was controlling Game Management. Least - that's how I take it.

I would guess last year's Chicago Challenge was handled by a nuetral party doing Game Management (ticketing and refs, etc) so it would still be a nuetral game.
