Shockers-Buckeyes

well - just about everyone admits both Pitt & Gonzaga were very overrated and ripe for an upset - then LaSalle probably wasn't really even a Sweet 16 team - just lucky via an upset of K-State on a nite K-State missed key shots & FTs..

but now they face an all different type of opponent...a definite Final Four contender...it'll be tough

Are you are saying Whichita has had an easy route to final 4? Compare their path with teams that are left.
LU played NCAT, CSU, Oregon, Duke
Duke-Albany Creighton MSU LU
Florida-Nortwestern ST. Minn. FCGU Mich
Syracuse-Montana Cal Indiana Marq
Michigan-SDSU VCU KU Fla
Hard for me to see much difference in the paths of these teams.

Thanks. And now WSU gets the #2 ranked team in the polls which is also the overall number one seed in the tourney(I think they are the best team in the tourney not from the MVC :)...)

Louisville is playing great right now and WSU is gonna have to have their A+ game to stay in it and have a chance to win.

I am soaking in all of the positive pub for WSU and the valley. :)

One more comment on Completely Biased Sports (CBS)......again, they didn't show the Valley celebrating a championship. Can you imagine them cutting away after a Duke win without talking to Seth Curry or Coach K? Yet, regular programming was more important than giving Wichita a chance to comment.

I couldn't help but notice that, even though they were well into "60 Minutes" time slot, CBS found time to interview Pitino and show Louisville accepting the regional trophy tonight. Just sayin....

Kevin Ware literally snapped his leg in half and obviously won't be able to play in the WSU game. Ware, although not a huge contributor, is a nice role player for the Cardinals and gives them a solid 15-20 minutes a night. Boy was that injury hard to watch. Reminded me of the Sean Livingston injury....yikes!:-o:-o:-o.
Good luck Shockers!

I was thinking the same thing- the only basketball injury I can recall seeing that was that gruesome was Livingston's. In addition to the obvious fractures to the 2 bones in his lower leg, it looked like Ware's knee may have bent enough to cause some ligament damage. I hope not.

I actually watched it again from a different angel, (like an *****, why do I do this to myself) and it has to be the worst injury I have ever seen. I won't go into detail, but after a second look, I take back comparing this to Livingston's. Even though it reminded me of it, this injury is in a league of its own..

This has the capacity to be a pretty good game with WSU and UofL. The injury to Ware is actually a bit bigger of a deal than one would think. Ware has steadily become a more significant player for UofL and often serves as the backup point.

Ware was suspended in the middle of a season for attitude issues, but since returning has really been a fantastic player. Hes a great athlete, and has tremendous length at the guard spot. UofL has the ability to rotate Siva, Smith, and Ware and lose virtually nothing on defense and at times, ware can provide a better scoring option than Siva. In fact, ware really had the best game of his career, during the sweet sixteen against Oregon when Siva got into early foul trouble.

Interestingly enough, if UofL were to get by the Shockers, they might miss ware the most if they happened to match up with Syracuse. Siva has a tendency to play awful against the tall, and long guards of Syracuse, while Wares height and length has made him effective in the past against Carter-Williams and crew.

I am finding early betting lines to have started at Louisville -9 but already trending towards -10/-10.5. The public loooovvveeesss Louisville early. Wsu was +4.5 against Pitt, +6 Vs Gonzaga, -4 vs LaSalle, +3.5 vs Ohio State and opened +9 against UofL.

WSU beat Pitt by 18, which is 22.5 points better than the spread, beat Gonzaga by 6 which is 12 points better than the spread, beat LaSalle by 14 which is 10 points better than the spread, and beat Ohio state by 4, which is 7.5 points better than the spread.

Vegas has gotten better on judging WSU each game during the tournament which makes sense. They are a mid major school, and it is harder to handicap a match which involves them vs a team not in the same conference (and vice versa). If this trend continues (which I believe it will) I think WSU loses by about 4. That would have them 5 points ahead of the spread, which seems about right (based off of current trends).

My assumption is that WSU loses by 4. But 4 points?! That is a close enough assumed result for WSU to end up with a win (in my opinion)! I think Vegas is off on this, and although they have slightly corrected themselves, its not by enough. WSU has a real fighting chance in this game, and will be a lot closer than the lines are indicating.

Lets go WSU!
Lets go Valley!
