The first regular season game by an MVC team is in the books--
In typical SIU fashion, the defense was very good, but the offense struggled. SIU beat Washington U. of St. Louis (a Div III school) 59-28

The high scorer for Washington U had 6 points, and they shot 18.6% from the field, and had 3 assists and 25 turnovers for the game. For SIU, Tony Young had 21 points.
I heard SIU did not shoot well and missed a lot of open shots. Mullins was 1-7 and no other player looked good offensively. Jamaal Tatum did not play.

SIU has a very good team. I hope they do very well this year and make the MVC look good.

BUT... I said it last season, and I will say it again:

"SIU is the WORST team for tv."

By that, I mean - they are painful to watch. Bradley fans know all about "defensive-minded ugly" teams from the Mo years.

True enough, but more often than not, SIU has a knack for making their opponents look bad too (like they did to BU twice last year )!
