SIU senior guard Ali Dibba received good news from the NCAA today. His appeal for an extra season of eligibility was granted, and he will be eligible to play in the 2025-26- Link
It is unclear who he will play for, though. He entered the transfer portal last spring while he awaited the appeal for an extra year of eligibility. So he now would appear to be able to sign with any team who offers him.
Ali Dibba played his freshman season in 2021-22 at Chicago State. But due to travel complications from his home country of Sweden, he did not join the Chicago State team until mid-December, 2021. Because he joined the team late, he did not see any action for them until December 30, and he ended up playing in only 5 games that season.

He then transferred and played 2 seasons at Abilene Christian (2022-2024), then played last season (2024-25)at SIU.

He didn't actually qualify for a 5th year under the ordinary NCAA rules, because he never redshirted, and thus his limited 2021-22 season should count as a full season of eligibility. But the NCAA seems to be getting more generous with waivers.
Dibba started all 33 games for SIU last season, and was their top scorer with 17.2 ppg. He also added 4.8 rebounds and 2.0 assists.
The 17.2 ppg was 2nd in the MVC to Bennett Stirtz last season-
