Let the debate begin, but I think SIU has a really tough schedule and a great chance to rise to a very high RPI, like Wichita State did last year.

SIU hosts Indiana on Dec. 1
They also host Butler and Western Kentucky,
and play AT Charlotte, at Saint Louis, and at Murray State (yet to be finalized).

In their tournament in Anaheim, they have USC, UC-Irvine, Mississippi State, Tulane, South Alabama, Miami (Ohio) and San Diego in addition to themselves, but the pairings have yet to be announced.

Good job Salukis, only 3 true road games before the conference season starts.

I thought it looked a little short.

Reading the article, discovered they also have St Mary's and Northern Illinois at home. Plus a BracketBuster game TBD.

Good schedule.

yeah, that looks like a pretty good schedule, Indiana is probably going to be hard for them to beat.

I'll go with SIU over IU on 12/1. Remember, good and talented teams are easier to beat early in the year as all of their star players try to become "the man". I think in IU's case T-E-A-M will be spelled "I"

I was looking at the Indiana message board and looking for comments about SIU, but ran into
tons of critical comments about Purdue's non-conference schedule which was just released.

Here is the non-conference schedule for Big Ten Purdue:

First up are exhibition games on Nov. 1 and 8, then a regular-season opener on Nov. 15 against
Bethune-Cookman (322)in Mackey Arena. Other games: (last year's RPI in parentheses)

- Nov. 20, Lipscomb (179), home
- Nov. 24, Loyola-Chicago (101), home
- Nov. 27, Clemson (46), away (ACC/Big Ten Challenge)
- Dec. 1, Indiana State (139), home
- Dec. 5, Ball State (274), home
- Dec. 8, Missouri (93), away
- Dec. 15, Louisville (37) in Indianapolis (Wooden Tradition)
- Dec. 17, Texas Southern (277), home, (Las Vegas Classic)
- Dec. 19, Wofford (296), home, (Las Vegas Classic)
- Dec. 22-23, in Las Vegas (maybe Iowa State (135))
- Dec. 29, Florida International (251), home.

Not many Top 100 opponents and a whole lot of bottom 100 opponents.

I found this recent comment:

"Trying to recover from a dreadful season, Cincinnati has not done itself any scheduling favors. The Bearcats are stuck with visits to UAB and Illinois State, in addition to their annual trip to Xavier, a visit from loaded Memphis and the second half of a home-and-home at N.C. State. The administration balked at buying out of the Illinois State game, which at least would have made a dent in the challenge of turning around the program. . . ."

But they have not yet released their schedule, and I do not know when it is slated to be released.

I don't understand why they wait so long.
If a team is playing out of town and want fans to follow,
they need to release the schedule early enough to arrange travel plans.

Cincinnati was supposed to come to Normal last year but they paid us to postpone the game so they could join some tourney and revive their series with Temple. (Thats what they said anyway.) When they postponed, they promised to return the game this season. So in an effort to fully ensure they would return the game, we apparently skyrocketed the buyout price. The original deal had them coming to Normal in early December, but I havent heard anything regarding if that is still the case. (Hopefully its not on Dec 1st cuz I'm gonna be out of town and I dont want to miss this game  ). IMHO we can and probably should beat them and since I'm sure they are terrified of losing that game to us, it would be a pretty nice win

Am I reading this correct?
They equate buyout out of playing ISU with turning the program around?
Wow, not much respect, they really don't want to play ISU, do they?

Have you ever tried making cream puffs? They are very delicate and take a while prepare to make sure they are light and fluffy.
