--SIU is having a bit of trouble finding good nonconference opponents. They still need two games for 2006-2007.
They presently have the BracketBuster and the BB repay at La. Tech. They are still two games short and cannot find an opponent.

--From Andy Katz' "Blog", it appears that Wichita State also is having trouble finding good nonconference opponents.
The Shockers are still looking for FOUR nonconference games, and they'd like to have teams that will build their RPI rather than risk it. But here's what Andy Katz says:
"Wichita State coach Mark Turgeon said he wrote a letter to every one of the schools in (the six top "BCS") conferences except Vanderbilt (he worked with coach Kevin Stallings), North Carolina (he is close with coach Roy Williams), K-State (because WSU already might play the Wildcats) and Providence (the Shockers just completed a home-and-home series with the Friars). He even suggested that he would start on the road, something you would think big six schools would gobble up.

What kind of response did he get? Not much.
"

Katz speculates WSU has gotten too good and the big guys don't want to take them on, not even Maryland's Gary Williams who whined about the MVC teams never playing any ACC teams.

--Creighton has already sold nearly 11,000 season tickets for 2006-2007.
