It's reported that Manny Ramirez has completed the waiver process, and the White Sox have the "winning" claim-

The Dodgers have until Tuesday to trade Ramirez, keep him or let the White Sox have him without compensation via the waiver process. Chicago would be responsible for the remaining $4.5 million he is owed in salary this season. If a trade is worked out, the teams will have to agree on prospects.

The Sox had one of the most feared DH's is baseball, but Ozzie didn't want him. Hope it's not too late for Manny to help.

Come to think of it Manny+Ozzie=ENTERTAINMENT At least the rest of baseball will be treated to some bizarre interviews. I like that they have personalities and do not mind showing it. Baseball use to have all types of personalities and now when you show it the press seems to bury you. As much as I like the stand up guys and prefer them I also believe baseball can use a bit more punch. Remember Mark Fidrych, Dave King Kong Kingman and many many more personalities of baseball.

Though I am a White Sox fan, I have grown a little tired of Ozzie's act and always wanting to be the center of attention. But if Manny does come to the Sox, I think Ozzie's strong personality will be keep him in his place and get the most out of him.

You make a very interesting point..
Here are the numbers for the subsequent 1-2 seasons after each of the past DH's left the White Sox...

Frank Thomas...
2006- batted .270, OBP .381, 39 homers, 114 RBI, 81 walks, 4th in voting for MVP
2007- batted .277, OBP .377, 26 homers, 95 RBI, 81 walks

Jim Thome........
2010- batting .268, OBP .392, 18 homers, 45 RBI (in just 89 games so far),

Manny was a total bust...
had the Sox just hijacked Jim Thome away from the Twins, the combination of the games he could have won for the Sox
and the games he then wouldn't have won for the Twins would now have the Sox in 1st place.

Ozzie couldn't find a place for him he said. He wanted Kotsay. Bye bye Ozzie.
