Spring recruiting in the MVC

tornado

I think this is going to be the most interesting spring recruiting period in recent memory...
for two reasons...

first, because most Valley schools still have open scholarships to fill - some have at least 2 or 3... (Bradley, on paper does not)
..but as we have always seen - scholarships WILL OPEN UP as players leave...
So there's still a lot of recruiting to do and I think it's possible even Bradley may have 1 or 2 more scholarships open

But the other reason is because almost EVERY MVC team is doing way worse than anyone expected....
and I think that will prompt roster overhauls as coaches try to solidify their rosters where they are deficient.

The success of teams getting transfers (Custer, Da Silva, Yarbrough, Nick Norton...) may trigger a bunch more transfers coming into the MVC...time will tell

But as an addendum to the above -- another reason the transfer & juco market might be strong this spring in the MVC - is because there just isn't a ton of
high school talent left unsigned that is likely to be heading to the MVC. In the Illinois player rankings for 2019 - every one of the top dozen is already signed,
as are the top kids in Indiana and other states.

But here's something interesting -
..the #1 unsigned kid in Wisconsin, Xzavier Jones - is listed as leaning to Bradley - https://247sports.com/Player/Xzavier-Jones-46037696/
..but then what the heck do they know - they still think our head coach is Geno Ford - https://247sports.com/college/bradle...tball/Commits/
