argue very strongly that the bigger schools didn't offer Curry because of his small, thin frame, but it turned out to be
a HUGE blessing for Curry.
So instead he goes to Davidson, and gets to start right away as a freshman, gets to play tons of minutes, produce huge numbers, get national recognition, get on national TV, carry his team to the Sweet Sixteen, and even get his mom and dad's picture all over the tube.
Had he gone to Virginia Tech, he'd have been required to redshirt then sit the bench a couple years and be part of the practice team for the "starters".
In fact, Stephen Curry is getting MORE national publicity than just about any player in college basketball right now.
More than Brandon Rush, more than Eric Gordon, more than even Tyler Hansbrough and Michael Beasley, and certainly more than any player on the entire team of any school that failed to offer this kid a scholarship and really regrets it now....like Virginia Tech and Virginia.
SO---- I guess the obvious conclusion is....that maybe more thin kids coming out of high school should take note, kids like Bill Cole, Brian Randle, Matt Roth...
Instead of banging your bodies into a pulp playing the role of scout team for 200-300 pound goons like Shaun Pruitt and DeAndre Thomas, and being disabled for much of your D-I career, consider coming to a mid-major and being THE star of the team from your freshman year on.......
It's really the kid's choice, but in the end, who had the most promise coming out of HS, Brian Randle or Stephen Curry?
Who had the biggest and the best D-I offers??
But who is having the better college career, getting the most notice, and having the most fun in postseason play, and maybe even has the most chance at a nice, long professional career if he wants?
