agreed - Chrysler (per your stats) earned $1.5 BILLION in PROFIT (Modified Operating Profit) through the first 3 quarters of 2011....(figures for 4th quarter N/A)
If they have paid $148 million in taxes (and we can't be entirely sure as their tax records are not available and their tax return wouldn't be due until well into 2012)
then that figure works out to an overall tax rate of 9.7% - something that makes Mitt Romney's 15% look excessive - and certainly a percentage that many of us (private & corporate) exceed in what we pay every single year of our lives!!
