Taylor Bruninga

Not to sound negative....but in the past few months seems like we've seen reports of at least 20-30 schools/coaching staffs that have come "to see" or watch Taylor Bruninga.
Every week it's another 2, 3 or 4 coming in to see him..including just about every one of the MVC schools.

Is there a reason the vast majority are not offering him a scholarships.
At first it was ..
"they were going on word of mouth and using other observers' evaluations and that once he got his first DI offer, many others would follow".

But now that dozens of different schools have had a really good chance to evaluate, most of them leave and do not offer.

Certainly he has had inquiries from many schools, and that will only continue. At this point only WIU, EIU, SIU-E, UNI, ISU Red, ISU Blue, Loyola, UIC, Wright St., and Valpo have been to see him in person. I'm not going to list the D-2 and D-3's who have been around. That is 10 schools, not 20 or 30. Three of the 10 have offered. Four MVC schools have been to see him in person, not "every one."

So I'd be curious to know why WIU, SIUE, Indiana State, Loyola, UIC, Wright State, and Valpo didn't offer a scholarship?

Well he's got 2 offers from the MVC and other schools looking at him this week so we'll see if there are more. It doesn't sound like he's a slam dunk to most coaches and that's fine He's going to get a free education somewhere and that's what matters most

I also wonder if the Northern Iowa offer is like a lot of their offers- that he would redshirt the first year, then have 4 years to play. At least 8 of their current rostered players started with a redshirt year.

I have seen other schools mentioned (not counting several DIIs) in to see him...and several coaches (including Bradley) were at the Tournament of Champions last November

not to mention other "legal" alternate ways for coaches to view

btw- what is Taylor Bruninga's 3-pt shooting pct this season?

I agree with you. In addition, just because schools have seen him play and don't immediately offer him a scholarship doesn't mean they won't. A lot of coaches take measured steps when evaluating talent and have different processes when offering scholarships. I glad he is getting looked at and I would hope our coaches are looking at him. You don't always have to go to other continents to find basketball players.

I am certain that if he chooses to remain un-committed, then he will get more offers.
As we near the spring signing period - no doubt schools will have players leave and many schools, who maybe currently do not have any open scholarships, will look for someone to offer them to... it becomes a feeding frenzy and every available player with talent & even the least known & obscure players start getting more offers.
That's what happened to guys like Brady Ernst, Jordan Nelson, Devan Bawinkle, Hunter Rhodes, Orion's Tanner Williams, Ben Coupet, and others...even some of our guys - Callum Barker, Merritt, and even Darrell Brown - who didn't have the offer he wanted until February last year.
What we see every year is that if they are willing to wait 'til spring, the offers will come...

We have a way to go as the men's basketball spring signing period for LOI's is
April 12, 2017 thru May 17, 2017.
(football & men's soccer signing periods start today)

I have heard that is indeed what he would be doing if he goes to UNI.

Creighton, Rice, and Drake will be into to see him on Friday. He is going to Vanderbilt for their game on Saturday.
Things are getting better for TB. Stay tuned .

anyone know - which of his visits have been "official visits" - the ones paid for by the schools?
We know he's visited at least one BIG TEN school....LINK
Also, I have heard that someone saw him at a Bradley game earlier this season - was that accurate?
..and what are the "better things" you refer to Disturbed?

I said "stay tuned." All in due time.

All of his visits have been unofficial visits including this weekends to Vandy.

Drake & Bradley (Wardle) will be in to watch him tonight.

Creighton was very impressed after watching him practice & Coach McDermott should be back here in the next 10-14 days to see him. Loyola-Chicago is also starting to make a strong move on him as well. Coach Moser should be down soon as well.
