TB out for season

No one was trying to keep this hush-hush. It was just discovered in the past 24 hours. Instead, we had to remove rumors that there was discipline issues that were never true in the first place. I think those who were trying to propagate those false rumors owe TB an apology.

They most certainly owe TB an apology. But I think that they may be strangely silent for a while!

No college kid deserves those kind of false rumors about him. TB has messed up before, but I think he's a good kid with an enormous amount of potential. I can't imagine how bad he feels, because I know how bad I feel right now as a fan of his and the team...Get well soon TB! Hope the Braves rally around you this season!

This is just plain bad luck, and I think anyone frustrated at this happening isn't frustrated at any single person involved in this decision, just frustrated that it's plain bad luck. Anyone trying to turn this into anything more can get thrown out of a window as far as I care.

Safety first. All the best to TB, on and off the court. I can only imagine the pain that's felt when you're taken off the court for the entire season because of a medical condition like this. It's gotta hurt.

So you're blaming JL? That's a new low...

Not blaming him for Taylor but every yr this happens and every yr he can't find a way to get the team ready to play...

This team will really miss Taylor and I don't believe he is replaceable given who Les does and doesn't have prepared to play, thus a 6th or lower finish...

Guys need to step up...

If I am wrong, i will admit it, but so far with Les, I rarely am.

Just a tremendous blow and I will miss Taylor as much as anyone, he is my favorite current Brave.

Get better soon Taylor! Really enjoy watching you play. And I apologize for speculating about that training video which included Peoria nightlife that you posted on your tweet over the Summer. I thought it was a good one.

We're definitely going to miss you, help the other players out and I'm hoping you'll be able to play again next season.

That said. This isn't as bad as people are making it out to be. No excuses.

Someone will have to step up, no different than DSE did last year. Maybe this can be an addition by subtraction. Theres an entire season to play. Someone WILL step up. This is no different than a team losing a top senior to graduation/early exit.

Regardless, this shouldn't have any effect on tonights game. The walk ons should be playing with 5 minutes left.

Perhaps its the curse of the Fieldhouse...

First of all.......take care of yourself TB! I'm glad Bradley has the people in place to make sure the athletes are physically ready.

I know this VERY rarely gets stated on this board, but I really do appreciate the moderators and the way they moderate the board, especially when it comes to people wanting to question certain players over and over again without any facts to back it up. Some say you are "covering up" something and calling you "spin doctors" and others say you are "controlling the discussion" and somehow placing blame on our coach for not saying anything (as if it's their right to know these things before an official announcement).

Again.....get well TB and let's take this one game at a time!

if you read the release -- it is clear that as a result of the sudden death of the BU baseball player--
they clearly must have done some extra testing on everyone else -- and found something that in all likelihood would have never been found otherwise..
something that is clearly a threat but would NOT have been known unless our folks at BU go the extra mile and do the extra testing that ordinarily wouldn't have been done....
So -- KUDOS to them.......something actually quite good might have come out of this...because can you imagine had TB suffered a serious issue from an unknown condition??

This is the problem I have with us entering the season with an open scholarship. If there are any unforeseen injuries or anything, which we have EVERY YEAR, then that's one less available player. As it stands right now, we have 12 scholarship players so we're essentially already down a player. With Taylor our for the year, and with Sam's status for the season questionable, that gives us 10 players ready to play. Right now we have a bench with 2 freshmen, two sophomores who had an extremely limited role last year, and Anthony Thompson, who still hasn't figured it out. That's good for one of the weakest benches in the valley this year. And imagine if another starter on our team sustains an injury, we'll barely be able to field a legitimate team!

Geez Louise, the TAMUKingsville game has not already tip yet! I'm taking a wait and see approach, far too early to throw in the towel just yet.

Well said. You know I very much agree!

I really like this post!

Agreed......and as a very small condolence, Philip Kaiser Jr's parents can very proudly say their son indeed made a difference at Bradley!

Because of the unexpected death of Phil Kiser, all the BU athletes were screened at a higher level for the hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. To clarify- it is not yet known if that affects taylor. The screening test only raised a suspicion. But to verify and exclude, TB's heart must be restudied after he has rested and deconditioned for 3 months.
Let's hope and pray it is a false alarm, and he will be cleared in time.

To answer one earlier quiestion- there is no chance he will try to come back and play this season.

BTW- this situation is similar to Eddy Curry's problem back in 2005 when the Bulls would not allow him to play. Curry's condition came to light when he had heart rhythm problems, while TB's was uncovered by careful screening. Eventually, doctors cleared Curry to play with the Knicks.
