Pretty apparent brown does not care. If he did he would stop with Twitter etc n just play ball. Btw the Twitter posts from Thompson are not exactly encouraging. His attitude towards his education is terrible, maybe his overall attitude is equally bad. This whole thing is just another step in a really disappointing season. Les is going to have some real decisions to make in the very near future.

Its NOT the fact he "tweeted" its the CONTENT of those "tweets".

Your at work holding a board meeting and someone is snapping pics of you and then goes on to say some of the stuff HE said about you.....sorry if he comes off the bench I'll be very dissapointed.

He needs to sit. PERIOD.

But we are not running a charm school here.... There are other forms of punishment that can be done for this that won't affect the entire team and are way more suitable for what happened. Unless he was given a warning previously, TB should come off the bench...

DC i'm a huge TB fan but I sense from your post you know and do not agree with Dogs. When is enough enough. JL should sit him and from your post I get the impression he will. We need TB to have any chance of success but he needs to grow up or move on. I hope he grows up. He is so much fun to watch and we haven't had anyone on campus with this much talent in a long time.

You are reading this 100% wrong. I know, and I agree with whatever the coach's decision is. I do, however, think there has been a whole lot more made of this than it deserves. I have followed BU players' twitter accounts for a couple years, and I have seen much worse. And there are far worse examples elsewhere, too.
As I said above, if anyone can cite a law that was broken, or a University code, or athletic code violation, please do so. But if not, then the worst we can accuse TB of is rudeness, crassness, and immaturity. Sounds quite similar to stuff that 90% of kids do.

I think Jim stated he broke team rules. Other than that I do not know.

I also do not think that 90% of kids are receiving free rides either though.

Certainly you understand that as a representative of the University and the basketball program, the players must be held to a higher standard.

I don't have a PC mind like some do, and if she was my wife, I wouldn't feel any different about this. I guess I don't obsess and worry over what some college kid is thinking.
Do you really think no other college student in that class ever thought those things other than TB. :doubt:
We have way too many thought police suddenly. I prefer to save my indignation for something more deserving.

But DRU, this is a very minor issue... If we are talking about the picture and his comment about the picture, I will admit that I got a laugh out of it... and DC is right... I bet other people have thought the same thing... The other remarks are what they are.. Should he be held out of the entire game for this... NO!

Ben....I'll ask you. Did you READ what he said? Seriously. What if the professor was YOUR wife.....? WHat if the girl in class was your daughter?

He's had TWO previous suspensions correct? JL says there IS a policy in place about social media sights and he crossed it.

So, you get to play but not start...sorry...BIG DEAL. He NEEDS to sit...he will and his teammates should be mad as he** at him.

Charm school no but its an institution of higher learning and life lessons need to be taught. What he did could very well get a person canned in the businessworld. I think BU and ANY university is responsible for teaching these kids more then Algebra, English and World History.....they also need to learn basic life lessons.

I ONLY hope its not to late for TB...I mean, whats next.

IF he learns from another benching then good. I'm just wondering if he can stay clean for TWO more years.

WOW Ben, we are worlds apart here my friend. I guess we will have to agree to disagree.

And, if its "a minor isue"....why would he be held out of the game and WHY would JL be so mad.

I hope so too. I'd really like to see some extended minutes to see what he has. His only game, that I remember is when he hit four in a row, three of them three point shots and nothing but net, and then he was out of the game after five minutes. We lost the game, who knows what might have been different. I'd like to see more of DSE tonight too.
 
Very hard to hear about this again with TB. I have read a few of his tweets and while I agree that other students may have thought the same things, that doesn't make it right for him to do it. I understand he is only 20 years old, but if the people around him had the attitude of this is no big deal, he is just a kid, others felt the same thing, etc..when does he learn? If he is missing the game tonight, then I applaud JL for the decision. Someone has to step up and reign him in.
As for this hurting the rest of the team....you are right it will. It is a privilege to be a part of any team, and there are rules and expectations to meet. You don't meet those, then there is punishment. I teach and coach and my rules are simple, make the grade or sit. No practices, no games....does this hurt the team? yep, but those kids learn what is truly important. If this was my wife or daughter and I found out that someone was taking photos of them and posting them without their knowledge and making those comments...I'd be livid.
