I know this board is based on "opinions" but the fact is Danny Granger was the best player to put on a Braves uniform in the decade-like him or not.

Rob Dye could be first team, think what he would have done statisticly playing under Les instead of Mo. Its a close call for first team but no way Sam is tied with Dye and I dont think its close having seen them both play extensively. I think JC gets the nod over PG especially if you take senior year JC. Franklin over Warren as well, Franklin was so clutch and hit so many big shots, Warren isnt that good (yet i hope)

I would take Rob Dye over any PG on that list.

The most underrated player of the decade........Will Franklin

The kid was a winner that could "will" the team to victory. When you go back and watch some of the games he played in you realize how much he meant to those teams. The year after the NCAA run he was a big part of the reason why that team over achieved. He could be my favorite player of the decade...

I have to agree that DG has to be on that list unless you are only including guys that finished up at BU. The first time I seen him play I said he was going to the pros. If he played 4 years in the up tempo game JL plays he would be in the top 5 in scoring and may have passed the great one.
This doesn't mean I like him as (my opinion and I think a lot of others on this board) see him as a traitor

There was no criticism. I was praising Jeff Rabey. Because of him, I have hope for juco guys that haven't done well their first year. He's one of the posterboys for the reason I want players to stick around to finish their career at BU.

then you apparently did not hear his call in on the radio show a couple years ago...he apparently has some issues with the program and doesn't feel the same about you and me as a lot of fans feel about him

No idea what was said about Rabey but he was a flat out one year wonder and has no business being discussed for any all century team.

Where is the mention of James Gillingham and Eric Roberson?

Both were better players for 4 years then Koita, Cage, Heemskerk or Adams. Adams played ok for one maybe two years, Heemskerk... James Baptist and Ben Coupet were more productive players and they were here a for a lot less time.

No way Ed Cage is a first team player at BU. He was decent again for a season, maybe would have been better if he had not gotten hurt.

Rob Dye was a better Point Guard then anyone we have now and was likely as good as Ruffin.

My first team
Sommerville
POB
Wilson
Dye
Gilbert

Second team
Andrews
Warren
JC
Ruffin
Franklin

Honorable mention
Robinson
Roberson
JJ
Wright
Bennett
Gillingham
Salley

I still cant believe someone actually believes both Heemskerk and Adams were more deserving of mention before Gillingham and Roberson.

I also did not put in Granger or Tisby... though both would have likely been in the top 10 players of this century they both chose to leave and there do not deserve mention as top century players at BU. Granger though was the best player to put on a BU uniform in the 00's.

You're correct. I don't listen to the radio show. The guy gave his heart to Bradley during the two years that he was in Peoria. That's good enough for me. I wish him the best.

Regarding Rabey...there's more- PM me.

as for Roberson, he played the bulk of his career in the 1990's with only the final 2 months of his career at BU in the time span we are looking at.
That year he averaged 8.9ppg..down from his prior averages.
I considered him, but he fell just short.

Gillingham as a SG was close but just edged out...he is good enough to make a good argument for...
but seriously...the only place Heemskerk is - the All Bench...but surely the Bench Team is not where Gillingham or Roberson belong!

but then....Salley is listed as Hon Mention??
Seriously, a two-year guy with a 6 ppg career average, a guy whose points, rebounds, and assists
all add up and still don't equal 1000, but then you didn't place Jeremy Crouch (over 1300 pts, and led the nation in
2007 in 3-pt shooting pct!) anywhere on any list, not even HM?

I agree....don't care WHAT he said about BU after he left. Thats HIS busines and MAYBE he had good reason...who knows.

I judge by performance ON the court. With that said Rabey is not on my first team.

I'd go POB, TW, MS, Gilbert and Ruffin.

Not sure what they meant by "posterboys"...I think it was for what he did WHILE he was here. I never knew him to be anything other than a good worker and a decent talent that got better his 2nd year. Again...what he said or did after he left makes no difference to me.

but dogs....what was said above....was awarding Jeff Rabey the position of...
"He's one of the posterboys"

for BU basketball...

he is NOT a posterboy for anything BU in my judgement..

"but then....Salley is listed as Hon Mention??"

He was as hard a worker and had to play the 5 in those 2 years... I will take him over Heemskerk or Adams any day of the week. Not to difficult to know he was a better basketball player in his sleep then Heemskerk and when he was awake was better then Adams.

"Gillingham as a SG was close but just edged out...he is good enough to make a good argument for...

If the bench was the next best then there is no way in Heck either Heemskerk or Adams deserve to be mentioned as a part of any 00 century team... neither were more then marginal at best and Heemskerk was less then marginal.

Your rules not mine regarding Roberson.
