Arkansas is a better job than A & M. Basketball is much more of a priority in Fayetteville than it is in College Station.

Arkansas is a better job than Iowa. If I am Lowery, that's my first choice.

"Pearl not interested in Iowa job
March 27, 2007

University of Tennessee coach Bruce Pearl said today he???‚¬?„?s "not interested" in the head coaching vacancy at Iowa.

"I???‚¬?„?m not leaving Tennessee," the Vols coach said.

The University of Iowa had officially contacted Tennessee and requested permission to talk to Pearl about its job.

UT Athletics Director Mike Hamilton said today he had granted Iowa permission to speak with Pearl.

"They made contact with me this morning," Pearl said. "I listened out of respect for their program. I thanked them for their interest.

"The thing we need in this program is stability. It would be my decision to be at Tennessee for a long time."


Pearl, whose current salary averages $1.3 million annually through 2012, has a $1 million buyout in his contract."
 
Our coaching list is updated and now shows
39 coaches who were replaced, including two at Minnesota, one being the interim head coach, Jim Molinari.

Of the 39 who lost their jobs, 21 have already been replaced, leaving just 18 open spots.
Of those 18 open spots, the Kentucky, Iowa, Michigan, Arkansas, and Colorado jobs are the only "BCS" schools yet to find replacement coaches.
