The Real reason ISU Made a Coaching Change

Here it is, the official reason for the recent firing of Porter Moser and hiring of Kansas assistant Tim Jankovich.

One Normal, Illinois resident was observing Jankovich at a local restaurant where he was doing a radio show and confirmed that she noticed the reason he was hired to replace Moser:

"New Illinois State coach Tim Jankovich held his first coach???‚¬?„?s radio show last week ......

???‚¬?“I think he???‚¬?„?s going to be likable to the fans. He???‚¬?„?s sharp and got a good wit,???‚¬?? Normal native Mike Rich told the Bloomington Pantagraph newspaper. ???‚¬?“How he is going to do on the court, we???‚¬?„?re going to have to wait and see.???‚¬??

???‚¬?“He???‚¬?„?s cute,???‚¬?? said Normal native Sally Pyne. ???‚¬?“He???‚¬?„?s got a really fabulous pedigree. I think Sheahon made a great move,???‚¬?? she added, referring to ISU athletic director Sheahon Zenger. ???‚¬?“We miss Porter (Moser, former coach) already, but the program needed someone of (Jankovich???‚¬?„?s) apparent caliber. We???‚¬?„?re excited.???‚¬??

So there....it had nothing to do with his basketball abilities or coaching.

Jankovich was hired because he is cute and sharp with a good wit.

Let's hope his players think so and don't "break-up" with him. Especially King-Daddy O

PM me if you want a little update on King O

Who's the avatar B4L?

yeah, no joke. she is smokin'

Seems to be quite popular based on the PM's and response here. It's a pic of Shania Twain.........probably about 10 yrs old (the pic, not her   )

ok........I can see that now. Haven't seen her on TV much in recent years. She's OK if you are into hot chicks.

Yeah, didn't recognize her, but I can see it now...

I saw her in concert a few years ago and she is gorgeous, and a lot shorter then I thought, she can't be taller then 5'3 or so.

As for Jankovich, I'm glad the ISU fans have their priorities in order.

I wouldn't have thought she was your type of entertainer, BUBraves06!

Actually I saw her in St. Louis a few years ago at the Savvis Center. We had front row seats, and I also was surprised how petite she is. At that time there were still rumors that she never really sang and lip-synched her songs. But being in the front row (and she walked into the crowd a number of times) I can assure you she does her own singing and is great. I think that rumor was started by other entertainers and agents jealous of her amazing looks and the fact that she became the biggest selling country artist without ever spending a day in Nashville.

Do you really think those opinions were that of avid Redbird fans (the few that are left) c'mon bro. They asked some 43 year old single Mom and her 13 year old daughter.

Jank has made a good first impression on the true Redbird fans, including yours truly.

We know....and I am sure you'll find that most here think Jank was a good hire...
this is all just a little off-season banter...don't take it so seriously.
It still pales in comparson to a lot of anti-BU stuff on certain other boards.

I know. just sayin'

FWIW the anti-BU stuff is from a select few in my opinion. I am equal opportunity hater of the entire Valley for example!!!!!

:D

just kiddin'

O no, I totally took it with a grain of salt. I know it's a joke, I just thought it was funny that it's what made the paper.

That's right, the funny part and the most significant and newsworthy part is that the
Columnist believed those "people off the street"'s opinions were newsworthy.

Moser's firing was part of Chris Koos' new Uptown Normal redevelopment program. Moser was declared a hinderance to the program, going against the grain of "the exciting changes that are making the business district more vibrant, more attractive, and more distinct." ( disclaimer)

(nothing sinister, but I am tired of being accused of being anti-OE)

I've been sitting on this for a long time but I heard quite a number of weeks ago that Osiris asked for and was granted his release and he was likely to end up at Illinois.

Weeks have passed and nothing has been said so I figure my sources were just plain wrong {hard to believe based on the status of the sources within the MVC hierarchy}. Then, I keep seeing little things like this and I keep wondering if something is just being kept hugely hush-hush.

Is he staying or is he going?!?!?!?!?!
