This game doesn't matter

How was the crowd last night? Were they into the game or blocked out as usual?

Disinterested and subdued for the most part...The only time there was any real energy in the house was during the stretch in the first half when Milos had his run...

There were a shocking number of people that were getting up and leaving with 2 or 3 minutes left in the game...I have never understood that.

Blah blah blah. The crowd was fine. A little louder and bigger than the other non-con games, from my view.

They keep playing like this and there won't be a crowd.

I can now fully understand why people were leaving with 2 minutes to play...

They already knew!

I can only imagine how bad the crowd is going to be if this poor coaching and poor play continues.

Which is the more interesting question:
This game doesn't matter, or, this season doesn't matter (anymore)??

While I had thought and hoped BU would play better than they have this year, it doesn't surprise me BU keeps struggling. I am ok with giving JL his day in court next year to get the job done. Next year there are no more excuses for the program not punching through to the next level - ie winning at home, winning a MVC title, winning a MVC Tournament, a real post season experience in the NCAA/NIT.....At some point in time, mediocrity gets old.

I would be more than willing to stomach a CHANCE on a POSSIBLE (but not automatic) rebuilding years slump vs 2-3 more years of what we are getting now.

I for one would hate to see BU go through rebuilding again. I think that JL needs an experienced assistant with BU ties that he will respect his opinion and not feel undermined. I know it would never happen but would love to see a Versace, Barone or CB type back on the bench. Although in life it's pleasant to work with "yes" men at your side, when the stuff hits the fan, you are generally left standing alone.

A head coach should not want asst coaches who agree with him all the time. He should want ones who present other opinions at times. It helps to have input from those who are qualified. Sometimes they can see things that the head coach cannot. The head coach does not have to like it or agree with the asst but he should value his opinion. This is true for decisions a head coach makes in games, during practice, and in recruiting. However when these disagreements pop up they should not take place in front of those being talked about. That is why coaches many coaches speak together on the floor away from the team during timeouts. If the asst is overuled then don't make it an issue. Look foward to the next time you are asked your opinion. If the head coach is wrong to much he won't be around for long.

Maybe this sums it up.

We are tied with time expiring and have the ball. Not one person in the arena feels like cheering....it felt like the rivermen game the other night.

I guess the game was to sickening the last 10 min to be worth cheering for at the end.
