This SHOULD put the Valley back on the Map!

It's a step in the right direction. The next thing that MVC schools need to do is to schedule up. We need to schedule BCS schools in preseason tournaments and add quality mid-major schools.

While there are some paltry non-con schedules out there, I am pretty sure it's not because teams aren't trying to schedule BCS schools. The MVC as a whole had plenty of BCS chances this year and failed. UNI's success in the tourney is going to make it even more difficult. The path to success is replacing the 300+ RPI's with quality mid and low majors.

More difficult for scheduling in preseason tournaments???? I am not talking about scheduling BCS schools on a home and home or on a 2 for 1 basis etc.

Again, I think its easier said than done, and I also think the MVC still gets ample opportunities to play the BCS in preseason tourneys. The MVC has had ample opportunities to play and beat the BCS the past few years. What's killing the league are the terrible mid and low major teams that some league teams continue to play. Unfortunately we haven't won a lot of those games since 2006.

That's all I want along with dropping some of the lower schools.

I've been saying this for a long time too! I have no problem replacing these 300+ RPI teams with even NIT caliber mid-majors like Rhode Island, St. Joseph's (in most other years), or a Northeastern. I think this is very important for a team's at-large chances.

The only time we should be allowed to play a "Chicago St." type of team is if we need to in order to gain access to a good preseason tourney. Otherwise, forget it!
