Doug McDermott - tough week - averages 25 ppg & 12 rpg in two big wins over San Diego State and Big Ten Nebraska..
and is an also-ran....

Ragland a good example of how Wichita got good Jr. college players to fill a void in their lineup, Bradley needs to get 2 good Jr. college players to fill that void we have in that we need 2 good outside shooters next year.

That's how DV rebuilt the Bradley program.

Heck, both of the players that recieved recognition this week are JUCO guys. And the last WSU player to win a weekly "award" was Clevin Hannah (also a JUCO transfer).

It can definately be a good way to fill gaps. Helps having 2 coaches (Chris Jans & Greg Heier) with good ties at the JUCO level and have seen alot of success there.

The Shox have actually had good luck with JUCO guys for the most part under Marshall. Ramone Clemente, Ben Smith, Carl Hall, Joe Ragland to name a few.

the epicenter of the best juco talent is perennially right there in the tornado belt of Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Kansas -
so that really gives WSU a little advantage in seeing and recruiting those kids..

Every single year since 2001 - one of the top jucos from those four states has made it to the Championship game (Coffeyville, San Jacinto, Redlands, Paris, Ft. Smith, Midland three times, South Plains, Howard..)
Other National Champs include Dodge City, Kilgore, Independence, West Texas, Hutchinson, NE Oklahoma, Connors State...
