This year's BU team poll

This year's BU team poll

  • Total voters
    43
  • Poll closed .
The sky is blue...

Grass is green...

Winter in Peoria is cold...

Sometimes you just have to state the obvious SFP to determine who has a grasp on reality and who doesn't.... or, those with an agenda versus those who don't. The most interesting part of this OBVIOUS poll will be in watching which regular posters abstain.

This really is an exercise in silliness. What about a poll to determine if this year was better than it would have been if not for all the fallout of the coaching change?
The problem is that the thousands of fans who have bailed on Bradley aren't around to vote anymore.

hmmm....now that is silly........are you still going to be saying this for the next 2 years to DC?

There you go saying the "F" word again.

Crap. It's late, can't see straight, thought the poll said "this year's team compared to next year."

Despite my error, I clearly think this year's team is BETTER. If I could un-vote "The Same," I would.

Silliness of this poll is a opinion I'll respect but it does point to all the posters who believe we have improved and I'm betting believe the program is headed in the right direction.

What I find silly is the constant attack on the program, with the sky is falling notion, coming from BU supporters that try to spin facts that does nothing but polarizes the BU nation.

I believe we would have had a better team with JL at the helm the last two years but I've moved forward with the realities that we have a new coach who is doing everything possible to get the program back to where it has not been since the Sweet 16 run. I've learned not to dwell in the coulda a shouldas of life if I want to be happy.

This site is seen by recruits and I want to make sure they know we have their backs and the guy they are coming here to play for.

GO BU!

So what is the purpose of this poll?

And if people are so secure in their belief that we are doing so well and headed in the right direction, why does it cause such conniption fits when they perceive that someone doesn't agree with them? Why can you be happy in believing what you believe?

I think you may be over-valuing the attention paid by recruits to fans who post on message boards. The reality of it is, more players mock and make fun message board posters than give value to what they're saying.

I think he just said it reflects poorly on the program. Recruits read this and he is worried how it will look to them. The same thing you have been preaching for years. Now you feel differently?

Why not vote how you feel?

More then anything else this what this poll is about and what I want to get out of it. Thanks Lake!

I am happy in what I believe DC.....

Why is this an exercise in silliness DC? It's a public message board, and anyone can post any poll they want.

And for the record, I think most of those fans will come as our team gets better. Bradley's attendance still ranks third in the Valley even in a down year.

For the record- the team is better- than last year. Everyone can see that. The only person who voted otherwise admits he made a mistake. Lake Camelot said it best in the 2nd post.

My point is that many of those who believed winning records, 21 and 22 win seasons, tougher schedules, good academics, clean program, etc. were not good, now seem satisfied with 9th seed and a .500 record against the worst schedule in modern history.

This thread is the beauty of a message board... People can focus on, or ignore whatever numbers, facts, etc they want in order to make their points... Is BU the 9th seed? Yes, due to tie-breakers. BUt they finished 7th as well in the league... Did BU win 21/ 22 games a few years back- yes, due to start up first time tourneys that we would be happy to be in as a struggling team...

And as far as I know, we still have good academics and a clean program...Is BU better than last year, I think most would find it hard to say no, as we have more wins, seem to have more backbone and heart.

Are we happy just being the 9th seed? Of course not...

Too much nit-picking diminishes our fandom IMO and isn't very constructive. Let's just say that people believe what they want to believe, and leave it at that... It is not my place to judge right or wrong

I think "satisfied" is a poor choice of word Da Coach. As obvious as it is that we have improved it is also obvious that no one is satisfied with a .500 record. Rather, we understand that this is a process and are satisfied with the progress that the Geno Ford regime has made, and is making. It appears that sooner, rather than later, we may be back to our previous level and will hopefully exceed the previous level under Geno's proven leadership. That was the whole reason a change was wanted by many and made by the BU Administration... The goal was to win MVC Championships and get back to a major post season tournament.
