Nice OOB. :D

I prefer SchneiderWeiss. NO LEMON - that's for wimpies.

Also - try Oberdorfer Dark.

Ok my friend, your choice but I want you to know there is NO Miller High Life in my frig:eek::lol:

I got to watch Ill. @ Purdue tonight and their star Soph JuJuan Johnson. I don't claim to be a talent scout but I was trying to compare him to Anthony (They are about the same size 6'10" 190+) and I think AT compares favorably. They both run the floor well, jump well, and have a nice touch around the bucket. They shoot free throws well, hustle, and show a lot of grit for men their size. JuJaun is a starter and a star on a ranked Purdue team. AT gets garbage. Someone please explain that to me.

I agree the best way to get this answer is to call into Les's show and ask the question with the comparison.

There might be less similar then you think, but until the question is asked it is all pure speculation.

Matt Painter doesn't allow practice play to dictate game minutes?

Really...I don't know...just grasping there...but good luck getting an answer period or even a straight one on a call-in show...

Why do you think they did away w/ post-game call-in's...

Not a fair comparison. JaJuan Johnson was one of the highest rated big men in the country out of high school, was ranked in the top 50 nationally by many recruiting experts (#42 by Rivals), put up huge scoring, rebounding, and block numbers in high school, and had offers from schools like Indiana, Marquette, Cincinnati, and others before committing early (in June of his junior year) to Purdue. He was an immediate producer at Purdue in his freshman year, started 17 games, including most of Purdue's Big Ten games, and he was much bulkier and stronger coming out of HS than AT.

Anthony Thompson may have physically resembled him, but the comparison ends there. AT was not a scorer in HS, and was rated #24 in his class among Texas high schoolers. He was clearly a player recruited for his future potential, and not for what he was able to produce right away.
AT also weighed only 167 lbs when he arrived at Bradley, while Johnson was a legitimate 195 lbs arriving at Purdue and quickly bulked up to 205 his freshman season. AT has bulked up now to 190+ lbs, but Johnson is now at 215 lbs.

The "bulked up to 190+" is the part that makes me laugh. Just using bulked up and AT in the same sentence if really funny. I am 5'9" and weigh around 190 with a waist of about 34 and I am not that big. He needs to be over 210 to be considered on his way to bulking up! Eat, eat, eat, drink, drink, drink, lift, lift, lift. Think "Fat Bastard"... "Get in my belly."

If only I had AT's problem now! I remember when I was college age I use to drink those shakes, slurp down raw eggs, lifted and still could not gain weight for my life. Now all I have to do is look at a piece of cake and my belt starts to tighten up. There's really not to much AT can do with his weight issue due to his high metabolism. Serious weight training and eating around 8 K calories a day would probably be the only thing he could do to put on another 10 lbs. Let's not expect to much from him until he can grow into his height. I'd rather have him healthy and playing year 4 then playing through some type of injury due to playing him too often and too soon.

GTD; I am 5-9 and 175 with a waist of 34, are you sure that your not a 36?

Never been higher than 34. No, just big frame. When I was in college I was about 175 with a waist of 32 and about 6% body fat. Body fat has definately gone up!

I was just kidding but I need to lose about 8 lbs. off my gut so AT can take that from me if he wants it.

I wish he could take 25 from me right now, today! Too bad it would be fat, but Mark Aguirre had a great career with quite a bit of fat.

Looks like the Civic Center will need to invest in some sturdier chairs down at the very end of the BU bench for this season.

What? Did MO get accepted? :D (just kidding)

To me, AT looked like he was in decent shape last season - more muscular and a little quicker. So, yeah, I'm not sure if the extra weight will be the predominant factor in increased P.T. At least he's making strides from the sound of it.

It doesn't matter how much weight he puts on. I don't think that's what's stopped him from being an effective Division I player.
I agree, if you want to play inside you need to be tough and physical, A.T. is probably a really nice person but he needs to be willing to knock people around if he wants to play as he has some decent skills.

AT lacks necessary court awareness on both ends. Just watch him in practice and games.

He is athletic enough to play for sure. Remember that one handed alley oop last year?

Hopefully he is stronger and more pissed off this year.

I base this strictly on what I read from twitter posts..... I have a feeling AT will have a breakout year. He's hanging with TB who I also think has "turned the corner". TB seems to know what is at stake. And I think TB will also motivate AT to step it up a notch.

I expect big things from both. :)

Sounds good to me B4F, I've got him in the starting lineup for that first exhibition game, in that thread T started. Why not give us a quick early look at him. I expect big things from him too :)
