Tony Kornheiser suspended from ESPN

Tony Kornheiser has apparently been suspended for two weeks for "horrifying" comments made against SportsCenter anchor Hannah Storm. He basically was ripping what he called a "horrifying" outfit that Hannah was wearing which consisted of her "typically tight shirt, red go-go boots and a Catholic School skirt".

The comments were made on his ESPN radio affiliate in Washington D.C. Now I understand that they technically both work under the same corporate umbrella, but they are on completely separate shows and are technically not direct co-workers. So is this REALLY such a sensative topic that he can't express his opinion on what really is truthfully a tarted up outfit that she typically wears?

I don't know what's with the politically correct rampage that's going on at that company! First they fire a blogger after he questioned, albeit it strongly, where all the Haiti money is going. And now they suspend a long time veteran of the network for making comments that are relatively benign in this day and age! I don't get the ultrasensitive suits running things over there. If Hannah is that bothered by the comments (apparently she put up a huge stink about them), then DON'T wear outfits like that!

I personally have no problem with them, but when one wears something like that, it is human nature for people to comment on them. But I guess that's what happens in this day and age that we continue to supress people for making opinions in a country that is supposed to celebrate freedom of speech. And in a great piece of irony, Kornheiser gets suspended from a job that requires him to express his opinion! How crazy is that?!

Its true that eventually when you put a microphone infront of someone they will intime say something stupid.

ESPN wants him to speak his mind but apparently not about their talent. The real only losers are those who watch PTI, his opinion will be missed for those 2 weeks.

Wonder if she threatened ESPN with legal action because of what he said?

they say irreverent and insulting things all the time towards players, coaches, and everyone else...

That's their job, they're not reporters they are commentators...and Storm's "outfit" was kinda horrifying...
but what we are seeing is political correctness silliness...had they made the exact same comments about John Madden's jacket or Ozzie Guillen's demeanor, it would have been perfectly acceptable.

Yes, not only is it ESPN's PC knee-jerking run amok, it is also "sexual harassment" in their eyes. Substitute John Madden for Hannah Storm and that "argument" would not hold any water.

No, do not do that. I don't want to see Madden in this...

From what I understand..... if her tele-prompter went down during sportscenter. We would heard nothing!!

That might be part of the hate from Tony - Not just the skirt?
