Too soon....

Ok, I know it may be a bit to soon to start this kind of talk, but i feel that with a win over creighton on sat, and we are in a helluva position to run the conference table; and with a win on sat, i feel we exclude ourselves from playing on thursday in STL. What are your thoughts?

Too soon for the team to think that, but then again we are fans so we can think what we want!;) IMO if we continue to play this way on D we will be hard to beat on the road and I don't see us losing at home!

As much as I drink the cool-aid it would be great but I would not bet on it. Our wins on the road so far this season were great regardless of who we played. I would be satisfied to win a few more road games and win the rest of the home games.

BU will not win them all this year, but I think we can win enough to finish ahead of the other 9 teams. That would be a great season!

I think isu will get their revenge on us in their place, but it will probably be just as close as tonight was.

honestly...when ISU started to talk about being undefeated.....I was like....you really think....so yes i think its too, two to early to talk anything but bluejays ;)

If we win on Saturday... Coach Les needs to send flowers and an apology card to MVC Commish Elgin... along with a box of candy and a Thankyou card for the schedule.

Let's also remember all of our tough conference road games are still to come. But it's still a great start to the Valley schedule.

Let's just take it one game at a time. We still have four road games against the other four of the top 5 in our conference, and a game at a very dangerous UNI. If we get two of those, and beat Indy St and SIU, we'll be in good shape to at least contend for the Valley title.

This is the trap game to end all trap games.

I will take any type of win Saturday and run like I stole it.

If we go undefeated, I will streak across the Murray Baker bridge.

Agreed, if we get ahead of ourselves or celebrate this victory too much Altman will remind us of the Valley pecking order very quickly.

That's why I wanted Creighton to win tonight. They will be desperate on Saturday night, though maybe their confidence will be down the toilet.

Something about Creighton has seemed a bit off all season, despite their good record. They still have a great record, but this is at least the second or third questionable loss they have had this season already. Either this team is a bit too complacent, or their's maybe a problem with one or two of their key players. But I guess that shows that there is a reason teams play the games, and no one will hand a team a championship.

Positing the idea you have about getting where we can .....

While still looking at what happened earlier this evening, I would like to wax eloquent about one of the most apparent things I noticed in the way the Bradley Braves played their game and ran their plan of attack to win the battle. The time: a little under five minutes to go in the first half. All at once, it became obvious to me the Bradley Braves, for lack of a better way of describing it, 'had their number'. Regardless of what was to come in the second half, I was comforted in knowing in my heart and my mind then for all intents and purposes, this game was over and Bradley was on their way to yet another very good win.

I know. I know. In spite of my feeling for this game, some doubt crept in with almost the same amount of time in the second half, but, not once did I become so affected I felt a loss was on the way for the home team. The same resurgence aforementioned above of our home team in the first half showed itself again and we walked away with an easier than how it looked victory. How do I feel about this coming weekend? Much as I did ahead of this evening's game . . . VERY confident and more than ready for the game!

I am having so much fun! GOD Bless the Bradley Braves!

Plus we beat them by like 30 last year here....

We need to focus on sticking it to them again and nothing else...

If we play OUR game, no one will beat us here AND we will always make for a tough out on the road.

Too soon is right. We can start talking about that if we haven't yet lost a conference game and we only have one more to play. This team has been taking it one game at a time and just playing each game tough and physical like its the last one. Not in the prima donna style that ISU has been doing thinking style will make them fly by everyone. This team works better when it's one tough game after another.

it didn't take long after the ISU guys started talking about going undefeated that they lost one...

Agreed, let's not tempt Karma here. I am really worried about this Creighton game. I can not say enough how much I fear Altman, especially in the regular season. The man gives his team a chance to win any game. And that's the sign of a great coach. He may not win 'em all. But you better believe he's done everything he can to prepare his players.

Looking back at the past few seasons, 15-3 is a pretty safe bet to win conference. We know our team shows up to play in Carver most nights, I'm worried about 7 of the 8 remaining conference games on the road. Realistically I think we can drop one at home and two on the road and still take the MVC. With that said, the only game that matters is the next one though.

I agree. I'm always worried about Creighton and especially so for this one for some reason. Maybe it's just a gut feeling but I think CU is on the verge of an explosion and Bradley is in it's path. Along with that it is a possibility that the fact we are now the sole leaders in the MVC may have our guys confidence up a little bit too much. I'm not saying they will be cocky but I would understand them coming out with not as much intensity as the previous 4 games. A loss in this situation I would see as a good thing. To keep our guys grounded and playing hard the rest of the season no matter what place they are in. That being said I would of course be upset as a top valley team needs to almost go undefeated at home in the conference.

Here's to them hopefully coming out as hungry as ever. Now is not the time to get lackadaisical.
