but I'd sure rank the outlawing of dunking higher than 18th!
it practically helped kill the sport........

Maor sport teams will only hurt their future revenue potential by excluding kids from enjoying championship games and The Colts leaving Baltimore was a huge crime IMO.

I agree with #20, #12, #11, #9(except do away with the DH), and #1.

But what is wrong with moving a franchise? Baltimore didn't support the team, Indy did. What's the problem?

Baltimore fans supported the Colts religiously. Indianapolis though came in and gave Irsay a ransom to move them. Irsay was your typical greedy owner. The Colts sold out every game but played in an old stadium and Irsay figured he could make some quick dollars from Indianapolis. He also never gave the city of Baltimore a chance to negotiate. He left in Mayflower moving trucks in the middle of the night. The Colts were a very proud franchise and one of the original NFL teams. It would be like saying Cleveland did not support the Browns. They did but the money Baltimore paid for them and the new stadium was a mint but at least Baltimore allowed the Cleveland to keep their name.

I'm still not seeing the issue here... IMO, the owner can do that which he pleases with a team. Thats the benefit of being the owner. And Baltimore didn't 'allow' them, the owner chose to go with a new name, that really doesn't have anything to do with the city. I can't say I think it was a bad move for the Colts. They have been constantly supported in Indiana and do very well there. If a city wanted to own a team the taxpayers could pony up enough to get the owner to sell the team to the city or a trust, i.e. Green Bay, otherwise, that stuff can happen.

Woah man, just my opinion. 'The Colts' is the same team you loved in Baltimore, its not some new entity that came into existence when they moved to Indy so, to me, saying they have no class is a little weird. I can understand why a Baltimore fan would be upset, but I don't understand how it was one of the '20 worst changes' in sports. I see now major effect or downside for anyone other than former Baltimore fans who, taken in the larger scheme, are not a large group by any measure.

Your from Galesburg:!: Now you know what has happen to the fine people there when all the factories and employer's moved out. Those people who lost their jobs as a result, worked hard for and supported their employers:!: Most of those employer's where making money there but as in the case of the Colt's, it was greed for more money that drove them to move:!: In both cases, the Colts and the X-Employers forgot the people (fans and employee's) who helped make them over many years of support and hard work:!:
I see SFP's issue, as I see all my friends, family and the people of Galesburg that were effected by the greed that drives some people, who don't give a **** and have absolutely no gilt of how much it hurts and affects the lives of others:!: Hope you never have to live the issue:!:Just the way the world is:roll:

You say greed, I say business decisions. You can't expect a business to stay somewhere where it is less profitable, thats just not reasonable. I very much have had to live this issue, in Galesburg in particular, but I don't blame the companies for what they did. And despite how it seems here, I'm pretty liberal in my viewpoints, but I don't believe we can expect companies or teams to act against their own best interests.

Call it what you want friend but in the cases of Gale Products and Maytag, both company's lost money in their moves for greed. Gale Products never made it and is NO more. Maytag went on to troubled times after the move and ended up liquidating and I believe that devision was sold off. I totally understand profit and the business way, as I was in management most of my life and know first hand that decisions must be made for the good of company's to stay a float but as I stated the Colts and the company's of Galesburg were profitable in their locations but greed drove them to move:!: As I said, I hope you and no one else has to fall victim to someone else's greed for the almighty dollar:!:

You are so right, it does:!: God rest the soul (he pasted) of X Galseburg City Manager (at that time) and X Peoria County Administrator Larry Astro who was part of the chicken shit deal that torn down part of Galesburg's history and heritage that very, very early morning:roll:
