I get that Nathan made the NBA and that was your original point, but if his stat line is true, then he would have been better off in Europe or somewhere else obviously. Just because Daniel has the oppurtunity to get into the NBA after he graduates doesn't mean he should automatically take it. If he's only there for 5 games, he'd be better off "settling" for playing in Europe, bettering his game, then making the move to the NBA if he had the chance.

I think it is unlikely, but he probably has more chance than any of the previous three MVC Players of the Year (Tatum, Miller, Brooks),
since ball handling is a skill that even kept Muggsy Bogues in the League for 14 seasons
(it sure wasn't his scoring or rebounding).

"ball handling is a skill that even kept Muggsy Bougues inthe league for 14 season it sure wasnt his scoring of rebounding" WOW you really must not know alot about the career of Muggsy. Lets first look at his stats in college his senior year.

14.8 pts per game
9.5 assists
3.8 rebounds (pretty good if you ask me for any size guard)
3.9 steals

He had these numbers while playing at Wake Forest in the ACC.

Muggsy is number 13 ALL TIME in average assits per game just ahead of nobodys like Bob Cousy, Nate Achibald and Steve Nash. In 3 season Bouges averaged over 10 assits per game. He was the 12th pick in the draft and their was no doubt at the time that he would play in the NBA. Sure Muggsy had a great handle but that is certainly not the only thing that kept him in the league. Having a good handle does not translate to 7.7 assits per game over a 14 year career. Like I said earlier Ruffin is a nice guard who may get a few tryouts but Muggsy Bouges he is not and really not even close.

You don't rank conferences based on how many NBA players they produce. There are awesome players that came from garbage schools. Look how dominant Duke was/is, and they really don't have any "dominant" NBA players to show for it (I know Brand, Hill, etc).

I think that's how too much of the media looks at college basketball, unfortunately. People really need to look at the teams and not the individual players.


Hey-the draft isn't today so Ruff could still move up. A nice run in the NCAA would move him up pretty quickly. I don't think he will end up making it, but it's positive for him to be on the radar.
 
I'm a big Bogues fan seeing that his team (Dunbar Baltimore) played against my brothers in HS and they tore them apart. DR is not a bogues type player but more of a Spudd Web without the leaping ability.

Here's a quote fromthe Washington Post today.

Who is Wilks? He made it why not DR?
