A poster recently reminded me that there have been 3 incredible last-second game winning 3-point shots for BU over the last 6 seasons. Let's reminisce, shall we?

Arch Madness / March 2007
Here is the first, in St. Louis in 2007, when Mr. Franklin jacked up a contested 3-pointer vs. UNI to send the Braves to the semis to face the eventual Sweet 16 Salukis.

March 2009
Another game which propelled the Braves to a semi-final game - this time in the newest NCAA post-season tourney, the CIT - in 2009, when Chris Roberts sent the Peoria crowd into a mad frenzy after the most unbelievable shot in BU history.

And the most recent of game-winners was a great ending to a crazy final 4 minutes in which the shot should never have happened!

Though not a 3 pointer, the Les to Hawkins length of the court pass, and a turn around jumper by the Hawk as time expired, in Des Moines back in the 80's during the 32-3 season was one of my greatest memories. 2 days later in Dayton he hit a buzzer beater to tie the game and the Braves won in overtime. My favorite BU season. Great coach, great teams, great kids.

I have both of the Jim Les to Hersey Hawkins buzzer beaters on VHS and still watch often - but maybe someone like Dave Snell with updated technology can upload those clips to YouTube..

I've said all along that we are really lucky to have a play by play guy as good as Snell! I hope he stays around town for a very long time... He's the consummate professional.

I've been listening to him for over 20 years, starting when I was at Bradley. I hope he is around for another 20 to 25 years.
