Triple Double

Triple doubles in D-I college basketball are quite rare....
most know that there's only been one ever in all the history of Bradley basketball...
and that many programs have never had one ever!

so it is kind of an oddity that in just the past week or so...THREE different times in D-I ball, it has occurred!

Epke Udoh of Baylor had 18 points, 17 rebounds, and 10 blocks

Hassan Whiteside of Marshall had 14 points, 14 rebounds, and 10 blocks

Jarvis Varnado of Mississippi State had 17 points, 12 rebounds, 10 blocks

I have revived this Triple-Double thread for a reason...

As noted above triple doubles in the college game are quite rare....

In fact the most anyone has ever gotten in a single season is FOUR (four players have gotten four in a season)
-- and six is the career record (two players have six in a career)
(but also note that NCAA has not always kept track of assists, steals, and blocks - so it may have occurred elsewhere "unofficially)

And it's been widely noted that now Bradley is known to have two such triple doubles - LINK

So why is this relevant?
Because just 17 games into this season there's a player on BYU who already has THREE triple-doubles already this season -
so he's certainly got a great shot at tying or beating the single season record.
