Tyler Storm - NEW video added

Tyler Storm is one of the few remaining big men in the mix for 2008, and here are some other links on him.
He is getting great writeups this summer, and I know Coach Les really would love to have this kid.

I would love to see this kid at BU, and think he could have the kind of career Matt Schneidermann or Grant Stout had at UNI.
(Incidentally, UNI is after the kid really hard and I think it's because they think the same thing I do.)

For the video links scroll down and see the post below

I've read where he is better suited as a wing player in college. Do you see him as a wing or as a true post player in college? Just curious as I have never seen him play.

I think he could play a 3 spot. I've seen him play against predominantly smaller players, and dominate them in the post. But he also was his team's best press breaker, so he does have the ballhandling ability and athleticism to play out there. Think Matt Shaw-Carlton Fay.

You mean with his skill set I assume? He is way thin compared to those two guys who were both very strong in highschool. Tyler's build versus Shaw or Fay is not a comparison in my opinion when they were the same age. Unless Tyler has really hit the weights hard this spring and summer.

His upper body may not be as developed as Shaw's or Fay's, but his lower body is. He has a rock solid base, and very strong legs. Skill-wise, yes, I think he's versatile enough to play inside or outside, similar to both of those guys.

OK I see your point. Thanks for the analysis. That's what I have read as well. Can play inside or outside, but his skill set may be better suited for a wing in college.

I hope to see him play somewhere this year. He is supposed to be the real deal.

I guess I'm surprised that he is being pursued that strongly by UNI. I haven't seen anything recently where he was a UNI target in the past 5-6 months. He did attend at least one UNI home game this past year (and I believe there was an offer at one time). UNI has no scholarships to offer for the 2008 recruiting class.

I have heard from a good source that Tyler has done a great job battling back from a difficult case of mono last May/June, and is back up to over 200 lbs, and getting very strong.
Maybe now that Shumpert has trimmed Bradley from his list, that Coach Les will go harder after Tyler!

Hey, I learned a little more about Tyler Storm....

And you can view him in a video of the Championship game of the Rumble in the Bronx this summer, at this link:
http://www.hsbnetwork.tv/

However, you have to register and wait until they send you a password, and I have already done so....

so go to this location:
http://www.ballersallstar.com/webcasts/rumbleinthebronx.html

then your name is: hsbnetwork

and your password is: allstar

then click on the 17U Championships and you can watch if you have Windows Media Player.
BE SURE you select and click on the 17U Championships and not the 16U.

Tyler Storm is #40 in yellow, black shoes, black left elbow pad, and he plays a lot in the paint (as the jersey numbers are hard to read)
There is nearly a full hour of video on this game with highlights!!

But here is a little more that I learned about Tyler and his summer:
He is 6'7" in shoes.
He went 7/10 on 3-pointers in the Rumble
in the Bronx championship game in June.
5/6 from behind the arc in the semi-
final.
"His biggest asset is that he just wants to win. Hates losing."

By the way, Tyler just picked up an offer from WIU.

All I read is about how good he is. I worry about a guy who can barely dunk at 6'7", especially in our league. After watching both videos of him, I just don't think he can compete athletically.

soft?....the video I saw he was taking it right at players bigger than he is....I do not see soft at all......weight training and maturing and he will be an excellent player for BU

bu fan 9
did you watch the video?
Storm is strong and was taking on those huge New York kids and it was them that were falling by the wayside.
I think you are wrong on Tyler.
