Valley 7-2 in BB

I hope its the only game we lose today. All the others are winnable, though CU is in a dog fight right now.

HUGE win for Drake. Validates the Valley. Now, ad this to Creightons win over ORU, a team with a higher RPI, and The Salukis absolutely destroying Nevada, The Valleys image, nationally, will rise substantially.
This further accentuates our "problem"!
We are/were, depending on your view, ready to break through.
Without Ruffin and Warren our depth and talent level fall drastically.
Can heart and guts win games? Absolutely, however, I would also like to have the talent we are missing..
To bad! So sad!:cry::cry:

I must say that the Valley has done themselves proud so far! Even if the conference as a whole does not move up too much, individual teams can make better cases for postseason with better RPI's and statement wins.

Of course the bottom of the Valley needs to win some games as well so everyone's RPI can move up.

And hopefully Bradley can get through their problems and pull out a win tonight to keep the momentum going.

Great job by the MVC today. I'm almost as proud of Drake as I am of Bradley. Nice job Bulldogs! Unbelievable highlight play by Leonard Houston!

That was a classic game today! It's the second year in a row that Butler loses a close BracketBuster home game to a ranked MVC opponent! But again, Drake needed this game more for respect and seeding purposes.

The announcers said that Drakes Houston's 3 point olley oop toss in could be the play of the year. He had to of got 6-7 Feet of air time. Didn't mention it specifically but it would be sweet if it was up for an ESPY nomination. Do they give those for college sports or just the pros?

Jason

It was nice, but it was not even a dunk. He simply tipped it into the basket. I would give it an 8.5, but it wouldn't be in my Top 10 for the year.

I believe the camera angle made it look like he was higher than he really was, but it was a nice play.

By the way, Drake's Adam Emmenecker suffered a cut on his hand during the previous game and afterward needed stitches.
The cut is on his right hand, and Emmenecker DID have an uncharacteristically bad game....he only scored 6 points, and had 7 turnovers! (nearly twice the total of the whole rest of the team)
Will this injury hurt him going into the stretch run??

Lastly....there is a brand new SLOGAN all over the Drake basketball website...
"Building a Winning Legacy"

Well, you have to give them credit.....
they have one winning season over the past 17 years, then this year they are much better than predicted....but I just don't hink they are at that stage yet, where they can claim a "winning legacy"!!!!! :)

By the way.......here is the pic....it is pretty awesome
as you can see, even though his hand is way above the rim, his head is below the rim, and we know there are guys like Saihou Jassey who can touch their heads to the rim.

Congrats to DU and all the Valley teams, good BB weekend. If ISU wins their BB game the MVC may have got them an atlarge dance ticket. It's hard to rahrah ISU but I always want to see the Valley do well.

I also wonder if a win by isu will be enough to bump the Valley up to 7th place?

Wright States RPI of 74, ISU's is 51, Doubt if an RPI, conference or individual, will improve significantly, with a home victory against a team with an RPI 23 points higher than its competitor.
