Fifth place :roll: I guess the voters don't know what we know, they're just voting based off what they saw last season. We know there are going to be changes this season, major changes, changes to the offensive scheme, changes to the size of the team playing and changes to the coaching skill (the learning curve has to have improved after losing leads last season). Major changes are coming, major changes, some want us to stay the same and finish 5th and some see the changes coming.
Exactly.....besides that, JL did take the team to the Sweet 16 in his 4th year. (I know...I'm living in the past, but not much different than reciting JL's first three season records as coach). I'm curious to see what Jank does in his 4th year. (Again...I know....we're not supposed to care about other teams) :roll:
Well then, I think this means the team obviously believes itself to be a top 3 team. Let's hope their effort reflects that.

I completely agree.
If your reading, remember this stuff every single night you walk onto the court. The entire conference does not respect your team. Please take this as a personal insult and do something about it.

I don't see the insult towards us other people see. Look at the point totals. We're 5th, but we're expected to basically be right there with UNI and Creighton. We're way clear of 6th, and very close to 2nd. No disrespect there. We're right where we should be - slight underdogs to UNI and Creighton and MSU for 2nd.
The objective people everywhere are collectively picking us to finish 5th in every single poll that I recall. The very definition of "overachieve" is "to perform better or achieve more than expected, esp. by others". I'd say finishing 2nd or 3rd would be considered overachieving. It's not our fault all the others were wrong to begin with. ;-)

What about the flip side of the negative nellie broken record?
Injuries, expectations for BU too high, no practice facilities, off court player problems, NCAA sanctions, player defections, recruit defections, early player departure, CC poor place to play, bad scheduling, ...but we won two NCAA games in 8 years, bad calls, JL needs more time, non supportive Prez Glasser, non supportive AD, more cleaning up to do.
What else is left? A Curse? Just sayin'
Perhaps the Media Day voters think BU is what they thought they were;-)
Seriously, BU will have to achieve something in the Valley to get respect and recognition. Don't hang the messenger (media voters). Apparently the media recognizes BU has individual talent (SM, AW, TB) but not enough talent, system, or coaching, to finish higher than 5th. Just their opinion.
Let the season begin and the W's start to flow. Everything else will fall into place.

That isnt the point Senation. I dont think anyone really cares or likely looks at the numbers its that big 5th that is looked at.
I sincerely hope our players take this vote, regardless of the points, as a personal slap and a disrespect to their abilities to play basketball.
You lose a game on a tip in you still lose, you get voted 5th you are still voted 5th.
Prove everyone wrong.

Amen! I'm pretty much a GDI in this never-ending battle between the nellies and the superfans. Can't stand the negative people, wish they would stay in their cage over at pjstar, but I've also never made excuses, because that forces dwelling on the negatives. Let's play and give it all we got, and hopefully we have a good year. Looking forward to plopping down with some nachos and buddies in section 16 and enjoying another season
Respectfully....so everyone should just fall in line with how YOU feel then everything would be fine correct?
Who defines what or who is positive...negative ? How does what those caged up pjstar posters think or feel effect anyone else? I know most of those posters over their and they have been HUGE BU supporters longer then most of us have been around.
Personally I enjoy and understand ALL points of view, don't hate anyone that differs from how I choose to feel and still can sit back enjoy the games with ALL BU fans that have the same goal.

Its basketball....escapism 101. I guess I just don't understand how people can hate others becuase they see the "show" differently than you do.
If someone wants to label me an "attacker' or Anti this or that...or if someone wants to tell me to "go do what you do"...thats on them...not me. I'm secure enough and confident enough in how I choose to root for BU that what others think or feel is, well meaningless not to mention a waste of time or energy.

AZ....I agree with you but IF we want people to except the way WE see/feel about BU we gotta be tolerate of what some call the "excuses".
The other coaches and media do not respect our bigs because they have not proven anything for awhile, I think we finally have guys with size that can contribute and get us in contention.
Before last season started there were posters wanting DSE to redshirt because they thought he was not ready, this year some want A.Davis to red-shirt, I think Andrew is ready to help us now and see no reason he cannot give us 6-10 good minutes a game, I like his skill set.
