Tiebreaker Points: http://bradleybasketball.blogspot.com/

Saturday, February 28
Missouri State @ Indiana State, 1:00pm CT
illinois state @ Creighton, 1:05pm CT (ESPN2)
Drake @ Bradley, 7:05pm CT
Wichita State @ Southern Illinois, 7:05pm CT
Evansville @ Northern Iowa, 7:30pm CT (MVC TV)

Locks:

UNI/CU will be 1/2... one or the other

ISU will be 3

SIU/InSU/MSU are locks for Thursday...

That leaves
BU, UE, WSU, and DU for 4-7

What are the most likely scenario's?

Bradley cannot fall to #7. We have all tiebreakers over WSU.

The only way Bradley falls to #6 is if Drake and Evansville win out.

SIU will be the 5 with a win and losses by UE and DU. They are by no means a lock for the play-in game as all they need are the favorites to win Saturday to be the 5 and play us. BU has clinched playing in the 4/5 game against SIU, UE, or WSU. I'm pretty sure Drake has clinched a spot on Thursday...SIU, UE, or WSU will join them, InSU, and MSU pending the results Saturday.

That's right! That would be the best scenario yet.

BU clinches the 4 seed with a BU win, or with a loss by UE, or with a BU loss and a win by UE and a win by WSU.

UE clinches the 4 seed with a UE win and a loss by BU and a loss by WSU.

SIU clinches the 5 seed with an SIU win and a loss by UE and a loss by DU.

WSU clinches the 5 seed with a WSU win.

UE clinches the 5 seed with a UE win and a loss by WSU, or with a UE loss and a loss by WSU and a win by DU.

Hope this isn't too complicated.

I recall someone at Wichita St's board did a seeding for every outcome prior to the final game either last year or the year before.

Wonder if there is something out there again for this year.

Anyway - tks TulsaBrave. ;)

No problem...it was even too complicated for me though...I realized after I posted I made an error in the final scenario for UE clinching the 5 with a loss. I corrected it now.

Haha... I quoted you and then saw that... was gonna point it out how you had me confused... then I read up to your post... and you corrected your post. But my quote still shows the "confusion". LOL!

What are the most likely scenario's?

9 ) Drake 7-11
v
8 ) Indiana State 7-11

10 ) Missouri State 3-15
v
7 ) Wichita State 8-10

9/8 Winner
v
1 ) UNI 14-4

5 ) SIU 8-10
v
4 ) Bradley 10-8

10/7 Winner
v
2) Creighton 14-4

6) Evansville 8-10
v
3) Illinois State 11-7

**This obviously has all the home teams winning Sat. and it hasn't happened a lot all year I don't believe, but given the matchups is quite likely...

Also it has 3 tiebreakers...

At the top UNI will win via power ranking points over Creighton

The 8-10 records go through the round robin with SIU being 3-1, Evansville 2-2, and Wichita 1-3 to give SIU the edge and the 5-seed...(once again, onbviously only occuring if SIU wins Sat. @ home over Wichita)

The 7-11 records go into a power ranking system to which Indiana State will win slightly.

Really I calculate that there is only one real scenario for the Braves if we win Saturday, and that is to keep an eye on the game in Carbondale. I don't really believe there's any chance whatsoever for Evansville to win in Cedar Falls nor do I really want them to as I want UNI on our side of the bracket....

Therefore we get either the Wichita or SIU from Sat. in Carbondale....

The question is, who do we want?

Me personally, I would rather not have to deal w/ the SIU fans regardless of whether Mullins does or does not end up playing.

From a statistical standpoint, I believe this is the most likely scenario:

1. Northern Iowa
2. Creighton
3. illinois state
4. Bradley
5. Wichita State
6. Evansville
7. Drake
8. Southern Illinois
9. Indiana State
10. Missouri State

I would much rather be playing SIU or Evansville.

You think it's more likely that Wichita St. wins at SIU when they are 1-7 on the road in conference play? Sure, they're playing better basketball now, but 1-7 says an awful lot as well.

Also, SIU is far from a dangerous home team as their 3-5 record indicates. I hope they win the game, but I don't think they will.

I'd much rather see illinois state play WSU in their first game!
