don't have to - both are on the same team
Are we really that talented at the guard position this year?
If everyone stays healthy, and with WL on board, we have the best depth in guards in the Valley - no doubt.

I will have to see more of him to bestow such accolades on him this early, and IMO he is not even in the converstion of best big man in the MVC, yet.
He had a couple nice games, but was MIA in many others, like-
He had 0 points and 1 rebound against Morehead State
3 points and 0 rebounds against Dayton
5 points 1 rebound at UNI
2 points 1 rebound at Creighton
He had 20 games with 6 points or less- for the best young big man in the MVC, where was the offense?
He had 10 games with 2 rebounds or less! and 17 games with 3 rebounds or less.
His season totals of 6.8 ppg and 4.1 rpg are very David Collins-esque.
BB, I think you may be dekluded by the game he played at Bradley (one of the best games he had all year) when he scored 12 and had 7 rebounds. But he was very inconsistent. Let's see how well he does without Dinma around, and with a weaker perimeter team.

Are we really that talented at the guard position this year?...
Our Injury bug last season seemed to be his problem so all we have to hope for is less bad luck lol...

Dwayne Lathan's second year in the valley should be even more impressive than his first MVC tournament game of 27 points....
So if all the Sycamores stay healthy, do you think you guys are good enough to finish in the top 5 in the Valley this season? New coach and all? ;-)
It could happen, but it will be tough. Marshall and Reed were big losses.
You still have pretty good guards in Carter, Kelly, and Printy. Much like us, the Syc's inside game will be the question mark, though we both have legit scorers in T. Brown and D. Lathan.
I see there are 4 RS freshmen on the roster. Any of them looking to make an impact?
Marshall and Reed towards the back end of the season were more of a problem than they were resources...reed jacked threes and was injured and Marshall couldn't pass the ball if he tried...I think with kelly at the point and a new center...our Center from JUCO is a man and as the promo's say, "I am Myles Walker, the destroyer of worlds." No I really dont expect him to be an offensive force but, we have needed a banger for a very long time....I think Mahurin And Odum are both going to be big contributors plus the freshman Kitchell will most likely play alot...he can rebound, shoot and has solid strong post moves....for braves fans as a freshman imagine him as the sophomore junior version of Jay Tunnell....
Nice promo for your new guys, but every team's fans think their guys will dominate the league. Myles Walker looks like he's got a nice physique and maybe Bradley could use a guy like him, but there must be a reason he only had offers from Indiana State and Middle Tennessee. He only averaged about 12 points and 6 rebounds in juco with a 48% FG percentage, and 53% FT percentage, not exactly "destroyer of worlds" numbers.
I think Mahurin and Kitchell will be a good players, but I think to expect them to be Jay Tunnel their first year is a stretch.

Hey - if you combine his %'s he's over 100%!!! ;-)
Oh yeah...Sammy was almost 150%, wasn't he.
Of your main seven guys who would have started games, you lost 41 games to injury or discipline (Marshall missed 7 games, Lathan 12, Kelly 20, Richard 2)
Bradley's top 7 guys lost 38 games to injury or discipline (Brown 4, Dunson 29, DSE 5) - almost the exact same amount.....so sorry sycfan.....we were just as snake-bitten...but we've had it several years in a row...
When did Sammy ever come into the conversation???? You are the guy who sits in the corner of the bar and says "yea...fight fight fight"
Agree. It might be too early to talk about MVC POY for 2011, but if Bradley can contend for the Valley title, there is a good chance Sammy would be in the running for POY.
Sammy is the #2 returning scorer in Valley games, right behind #1 Andrew Warren.-

And Taylor Brown is #4, giving Bradley 3 of the top 4 returning scorers from last year's MVC games. Also, Dodie Dunson's return gives Bradley a 4th player who averaged double digits in his last full season (10.1 ppg in 2008-2009).
Houston, I couldn't agree more. Da Coach points out some of his poorer games and I'll give him that but remember he was a Freshmen. I would take Carmichael in a New Your second. If he stays healthy and in school ,he well could be the best big in the Valley for the next 3 years. I love his game. We have no one to stop him at this moment and its not looking like we will see Mo in a BU uniform this year.Eyeball test and that includes his physical abilities Carmichael is the best Sophomore in this conference and if his game evolves he will be right towards the top in best players in this conference.
Pure basketball skill DSE is the best "basketball" player of the Sophs. Van Deest if he is growing both in height and size might be the best NBA potential of the Sophs. He is very skilled feet wise for a young bigman.
