Valparaiso player arrested and charged with 2 felonies

very bad judgement - a 4-year scholarship to Valparaiso is worth roughly $200,000 (LINK) - and two years of that is still left to be collected - so if he gets booted, this poor judgement & criminal behavior could cost him $100K

With Burton booted off the team in January, Bradlford got a huge chance and started playing 15-20 minutes per game and more.
With Walker & Joseph graduating - he'd have been in line to grab a lot more playing time next year - but now he's at risk of losing it...
They may just want to bring in a juco scoring guard and boot him.

Valparaiso head coach Matt Lottich skipped his segment today on the Missouri Valley teleconference, as did Dan Muller. No reasons were given.

Link inlcudes podcast of Coach Wardle's comments-
http://www.mvc-sports.com/news/2018...c-mens-basketball-coaches-teleconference.aspx

Coach Wardle was only asked one question, and it was not asked by any local media person- about Darrell Brown's injury. He answer was what was already posted- that he has a lateral ankle sprain, and that "we are not planning on Brown being able to play Friday".

He was arrested at 9pm- that's only 5 hours after their game ended over in Des Moines, IA
...was reading on the Valpo board - a couple of their fans think he ought to go but quite a few think no big deal - this is just marijuana possession...
...but they overlook that it violates athletic code and then they lied to the police, obstructing justice and tried to hide the evidence. Two of the charges are felonies.

Micah Bradford's father tweeted this claim of innocence for his son-

Barry Bradford‏
@barrybradford3

Thanks for reaching out family he will be cleared of it all was in wrong place at wrong time was at a teammates apartment with others waiting on teammates to get back, was not in possession, not tested positive, not his residence. Tough life lesson. B.

So it will be interesting to see what Valpo does. So far, no official comments from the Valpo AD or coach.

The charges against Valparaiso player Micah Bradford were reduced to misdemeanors-

His availability for Valpo's Thursday night game is unknown.

Micah Bradford is suspended for 2 games "per University Policy".
However, he has the right to appeal, and he would be allowed to play while the appeal process plays out-

I would be surprised if he doesn't appeal, which would allow him to be eleigible and play in the MVC Tournament. If he loses his appeal, he would presumably serve his suspension for 2 meaningless early season games next year.

Bradford had a pretty good game - 8 pts/5 assists
The only player Valpo has who is big enough and athletic enough to have guarded Alize Johnson any better is Mileek McMillan...but McMillan quickly picked up fouls and was only able to play a total of six minutes in the entire game...
