Wade Knapp and Charlie Coley

I just looked this up in the Princeton Review of Best Colleges, so here it is for laughing--

For students admitted to Bradley--
Average SAT -- 600
Average ACT -- 25

For students admitted to UNC-Charlotte--
Average SAT -- 516
Average ACT -- 22

Charlotte is also projected to be the largest University in the state by 2030. From some source online we are the only university in the state that has room for tremendous expansion.

Over the past 10 yrs (AVG):
RPI
Charlotte: 60
Bradley: 116

I'm not trying to stir the pot here but...this stat's been bugging me. Now I could be wrong (probaly am) but isn't that RPI kind of low? Their AVERAGE RPI is 60 over the last ten years but they've made the Big Dance seven of those ten years. Seven! Mabye their three non-tourney years were not so good. Or...

i guess that would be the most accurate description we had a 14-15 season, 13-16 season, and a 14-16 season.

bobby lutz has only had 2 losing seasons in his 9 years, which would be the 13-16 and 14-16 seasons. he has been to the NCAA 5 times and NIT 2. He is 15 wins away from being the winningest coach in Charlotte history.

Charlotte is 5-2 verses the mvc in the last 10 seasons. Most notable win was against SIU when we broke their impressive winning streak they had in the 2004 season.

these are just quick statistics i could bring up. not trying to start a flame war or anything. charlotte has been successful we won the CUSA championship 2 times under lutz.

the horrible seasons are seasons that we don't talk about haha. its kind of like someone goes in our brains and erases those 3 seasons.

While I won't waste my time debunking these moronic ad hominem attacks, I'll point out that my SAT and GPA were both higher than the average for your school and the most important part of this thread: We got Coley.

If your athletes can read, write, and communicate with class and dignity, then why can you do none of the aforementioned?

Just like to point out that my SAT score is exactly 400 points above your 75th percentile(1160) and the important part of a program, WE WIN IN A GOOD CONFERENCE.

Sorry, this is not directed to the other Niners, just laughing1.

MVC has been a "good" conference for 2 years. You've "won" in a "good" conference once in your history, barring perhaps the fifties, but I'm not that old.

OK, SAT stat is true...

Last year we finished 39 RPI in the 6th Conference and an NIT win

UNCC finished 147 RPI in the 10th Conference and...

Year Before:

We finished with an RPI of 33 and made it to the Sweet Sixteen

You finished with an RPI of 104 and...

11% of our freshman have Verbal SAT scores over 700
13% of our freshman have Math SAT scores over 700
11% of our freshman have ACT scores over 31

1% of your freshman have Verbal SAT scores over 700
2% of your freshman have Math SAT scores over 700
1% of your freshman have ACT scores over 31

For reference the site rounds any number below 1%, including 0 to 1%

Those the kind of stats you were looking for?

You are very right, I'm sorry for stating an opinion - the facts and statistics do speak for themselves.

If you read the entire thread, you'd notice I have stated consistency is far more important than lucky years. Your school makes the NCAA once a decade, ours considers NIT years a down year, and our coach is on the hot seat any year we're not in a tournament.

Over the past decade (consistency, remember), we've had a higher Win Percentage, Higher RPI Average, more NCAA bids, and better recruits. We have better facilities, and own our own arena. Speaking of recruits, it doesn't seem Bradley is doing so hot.

This is a basketball discussion, so I won't bother mentioning we're in a better state, better city, better economy, better climate, more growth/expansion, rising admittance standards, etc. I guess if your basketball records are what Bradley's are, you have to grasp for straws like the things I won't mention, though.

Yeah looking at academics in a college is by far grasping at straws, how idiotic of me.

And basketball records...

Charlotte:NCAA record 7-12, NCAA wins in the past 5 years-none, NIT record 4-5 in 5 NIT appearances.
Bradley: NCAA record 11-8, NCAA wins in the past 5 years-two, NIT record 26-18 (four TITLES) 21 NIT appearances.

I guess I'm crazy for thinking winning is more important than just playing in a game.

And recruiting this year... Were not doing too hot? Many have us in the Top 30 in the nation, show me ANYWHERE where UNCC is even mentioned near that level, let alone as highly.

Facilities/Expansion - I think your a bit mistaken
http://www.bradley.edu/hilltopics/07winter/newlook/

Your admittance standards could rise for quite a while before they reach BU's (see above post).

And just for clarification-

Economy of Illinois
The 2004 total gross state product for Illinois was $528 billion, placing it fifth in the nation, NC was no where close.

OK, I'm done, sorry guys...

Look up when most of your wins occurred. Were you even alive then? Was your Daddy even alive then?

Comparing admission standards in a basketball contest is dumb. Comparing a private and a public university is dumber.

"Heitz and Wyckoff Halls also need air conditioning. Anna said, ???‚¬?“We want to make window fans a part of our history, not the current Bradley experience.???‚¬??" Charlotte even has air conditioning in all of its buildings!

But, alas, this is a silly argument. Who cares, really? To be honest, I'm sure Bradley is a wonderful University. You can have the last word, if you want. Take care.

Go Niners and Braves!

You sound like some SIU fans that swear basketball was invented 7 years ago.....oh yeah and I checked the almanac, my dad can beat up your dad.

Just curious - Has anyone from here sought out the New Mexico State board to go over there & rub their nose in the fact that we won out on Austin?

My guess is probably not!! That shows where the BU fans differ.

romar, let's not rub anyone noses in anything,
that would make us look like the Charlotte guy who called himself "laughing".

Exactly my point - I was saying that I just don't see anyone on this board doing something like that.

Yeah, I scored better than that in sixth grade when we took the SAT as an experiment at Bradley for accelerated students.

I am not an expert on the SAT or ACT. But those numbers came from the Princeton Review catalog of colleges.

Does anyone else have current numbers?

From Princeton Review, (DC I think you only looked at one column, an SAT score is comprised of both, 3 now but thats a whole other story)

For High School Class of 2006(after that the SAT changed)

COLLEGE..................Math SAT..Verbal SAT...Composite..ACT
Bradley University........610...........590.............1200.......25
UNCC.........................550...........520.............1070......21
