Wait till next year.....

I don't mean for this to be a flame, but isn't that the Bradley mantra nearly every year? See a pattern?

I should have never gotten emotionally attached to a team where the majority of the fans are cubs fans.....

Like I said in another post...we are doomed to middle of the pack standings, heartbreaking loses and season changing injuries.

I blame the cubs fans for our destiny of we'll be good next year.

Not sure if this means you're giving up on this year. I'm sure not. We've got a lot of basketball yet and I'm hoping for better play and a strong finish. Go BU!

Have I given up? Good question because I'm not really sure. I don't like the term giving up because I don't think it applies to me in this situation. I have said that for this season I have cut off emotional ties. I will be happy when they win but when they lose I wont let it torment me the rest of the night like it has in the past. Do I think they can still finish 2nd. Yes I think they CAN. I think they have the ability to. However with the combination of some of our freshmen still playing like freshmen instead of more like sophomores, our centers not being able to match up with many others, our juniors not doing much aside from the streaky play from DD (and that's what it is...streaky), and our questionable coaching and execution on offense leads me to believe we have almost no chance. If things change drastically...then I think we can and we are still in it. However if we keep doing things on offense the way we have with the stupid weave and not being able to penetrate worth a darn or find an open 10 to 15 foot shot and make it we won't come in 2nd. Our defense plays well enough I guess but I still get tired of seeing some people being able to drive against us at will and yet feel as though it is impossible for us to do the same. I feel lucky when we get a good offensive set....what does that say about the team or our coaching?

I am not giving up, ESPECIALLY with the parity of the league right now. UNI is a very beatable team, as is every other team in the league. The tournament will be up for grabs... And I have a strong feeling someone will surprise us on Sunday.

Hey, after reading this thread, I thought all hope for Bradley was gone.
But I just checked and Bradley is only 1/2 game out of 2nd place.

So I am not ready to join the doom and gloom squad, yet. They are still very much alive to make a run for the MVC tournament title.

Missouri State is the only program that hasn't won either regular season or conference tourney since Bradley won the regular season title in 1996.

There's always hope...it just looks like 4th or 5th is a bit more realistic result to expect at this point. If we can somehow win the next two road games, we would have played ourselves back into the picture for second or third...We'll see...

The next 3 years we should be good but one area of concern is the 4 and 5 spot as T.Brown has not gotten many minutes for quite awhile and we will have 0 experience in the post position. T.Wilson will be greatly missed .

Not sure why we're doomed. Don't look now, but we're a half-game back on the teams tied for 2nd place. BOTH of those teams play on the road tonight. One of those teams, isu, is 1-4 on the road in the MVC now. Why we're assuming that either or both of those teams are going to win tonight, I'm not really sure. For what it's worth, the team a half-game back on us, Evansville, is playing on the road tonight also. From a standings point of view, why don't we see how Wednesday goes on the road in the MVC tonight. We could end up tied with 2 or 3 other teams for 2nd place... Or we could end up tied with a team or two in 3rd place.

I actually beleive this team is over acheiving for being so young. Yes I know they have played now for almost a fullseason but they are still young. Other then SS we have no one playiuung regularly w/ more then 1 year of experience. I am amazed w/ the record they have and often ask how are they doing it.

I feel this team can very well play for a championship in SL in March so why wait until next year.

With that being said the MVC is very oepn and really we have 7 or 8 teams that could reallistically play for the championship but I really do like our chances.

Indiana State is the only team with no chance in St. Louis. Missouri State has the easy part of their schedule coming up and will finish pretty well most likely...probably a similar run to what Wichita has been on lately.

I'm with you. There are two teams that I'd rather meet on Sunday being UNI and CU but I like our chances and since UNI counts on it's 3 so much I believe by Sunday their legs will not be there to carry them through. CU on the other hand either has our number or we just do not match up well against them. We should be able to beat anyone else IMHO if our bigs show up!;-)

No offense but the board always predicts a great upcoming year for the Braves.

The board is never unanimous on anything. There is just as much gloom and doom here as kool aid. How many people predicted Bradley would be fighting for 2nd place? There were more who were predicting a Thursday night game in the tournament.
