I recieved an email from the possible new walk on today and according to him their should be news in a week or two. I have also herd from a source that this individual was granted his official release from his university today.

Lance is a perfect comparison.

He's got more upside than Lance IMO. :)

I think either player (Stemler/Schaier) is a good comparison, given their size, their ability to shoot from long range, and the IHSA classification of their HS.

But did either of those guys win a state title?

Are you saying the potential walk-on won a state basketball title?

Walkon

Walkon

I think people may be getting a little too exited. If it is who I think it is. He would be a nice walkon, but no star.

If it's who I think it is he is really soft.

First, he's a walk-on. Second, if he ever got any minutes at any point in his career at BU, it would be as a spot-up shooter, so I am not really sure how 'tough' we need him to be. Again, it's a walk-on. Nothing to get too excited about, other than it being a local kid who might be able to play a little bit by the time he's a senior.

JC was no star coming out of high school

I disagree. He was a AA all-stater and averaged nearly 10 ppg as freshman, shooting nearly 40% from 3. I think he was much farther along as a freshman than this walk-on is.

Does anyone else think this might be a problem? I think there might be a lot of pressure from local fans to see this kid get more playing time than he potentially deserves. I understand he's just a walk on, but he had a very successful high school career, and he's transferring from a program where he actually played...

I trust Les and the crew to play who needs to be played, I'm just curious if anyone else sees this as a possibility or not.

By the way, it's all hypothetical right now, the kid might not even show up.

I dont think it'll be a problem since both of our current walkons are local kids.

Umm...I think they were the state runner-up.
