Warren Jones transfers to....

tornado

New member
Wisconsin-Green Bay!
He will have to sit out this coming season and will have one season remaining

"He originally planned to play at the Division II level with hopes of playing professionally
next season, but he had a late change of heart.
“After playing the Division I route. … you know, I was the leading scorer on my team last year,”
Jones said. “I feel like I wasn’t a D-II player. I know what I can do at the Division I level,
so I’ll wait it out and really show what I can do my senior year.”

From Green Bay Press Gazette:
..apparently the Green Bay beat writer was completely caught by surprise at their new player on Tuesday..
"An interesting face was spotted on the court before the first day of practice for the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay men’s basketball team on Tuesday night.

It was that of former Bradley standout guard Warren Jones, who has transferred to UWGB ....will now play for the Phoenix team that Wardle coached.."

Here's their message board fans' reaction...

Warren Jones, barring some other unknown roster manipulation, may be walking on there at Green Bay (note the discussion per their fans) since they seem to already have 13 players under scholarship now, and also 13 projected already for 2016-17 with the 2 commits that they already have for next year.

Good that Warren landed at another good D1 school. Here's hoping he stays out of trouble, has a good senior season, gets his college degree from a good school, and has a successful playing career if he chooses to play pro ball somewhere.

The web site VerbalCommits.com has Jones listed a scholarship player at Green Bay, however...
they also have 14 players currently listed under scholarship - so obviously they have someone wrong. Only 13 are allowed by NCAA.
VerbalCommits also has Green Bay oversigned by one for next year because of Jones..
