Simple question...WHY is it OK for some to be critical of KW but NOT of JL? ...
read the rules, I didn't write them...
and I have said many times, the negatives are fine as long as we can also talk about where they are coming from...
also
What I have always said is that KW for some reason continuously slams JL at every chance he has. ..
I think we can look to Kirk Wessler's own words for at least some of the answer...and I believe there is an anti-BU bias that formed well outside of basketball or the professional arena....a few years ago when the university was buying up property, he wrote several times about how he took it personally because some of the land belonged to his family (and they were apparently well compensated and satisfactorily compensated and sold willingly), and that his family had attended and/or worked for Bradley University for a couple generations...and they felt they deserved either different or better treatment.
I recall the columns quite well, and I see his point, but it was all quite sentimental while BU was pursuing a clearly business agenda, did everything quite fairly and legally, and notified everyone and anyone they were required to notify.
Don't get me wrong...he is entitled to feel however he wants, but he can't talk of his bias then later speak as if unbiased!
On top of that he was upset that he was never given a direct phone call letting him know precisely what BU's long range plan was, when of course BU hadn't given anyone else such a phone call..
they had, however, posted the entire long range plan in the lobby of the athletic offices for everyone to see, nearly a full year earlier....so most of what seemed to upset Mr. W appeared pretty insignificant to me and maybe just a downright misunderstanding or mistake....
Beyond that I think the PJS writers feel the need to continue the long tradition of Dick Lien and Phil Theobald, who chose by design to be very anti-Bradley...and covered BU basketball kinda like Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein covered Watergate.
